The RG353 has two separate SD card slots. The TF1 slot card will hold your Linux OS and all relevant files. The TF2 slot card is extra storage and can therefore be used to hold your games. Note: For ArkOS on the RG351V or RG351MP, if SD2 is being used for roms, unzip the port to the /roms2/ports folder instead and copy the PortMaster folder to the /roms2/tools location. A few additional ports are available on the large releases repo ( https://github.com/PortsMaster/PortMaster-Releases/releases) due to their size (ex. SuperTux, Ur Quan Masters, and FreedroidRPG). Run PortMaster from ArkOS, TheRA or RetroOZ through Options > Tools > PortMaster menu, 351Elec/AmberElec from Ports > PortMaster menu There were some caveats to this though, mainly down to the design layout of the rear buttons, which weren’t exactly comfortable to use. But overall, the RG353V was a great handheld. So, in usual fashion, Anbernic have released a third reiteration of the RG353V (the second being the RG353VS). However, it’s the games that really show what this handheld can do. Very similar to the RG353V, I found that all of the included platforms worked remarkably well. This guide aims to help new users with some frequently used features of JELOS.I recently wrote an article about the new Anbernic RG353V gaming handheld and how the company had released a vertical gaming handheld that ran on both a Linux & Android OS. In the article I praised the RG353V for being a great hybrid handheld. The first firmware is JELOS which stands for Just Enough Linux. This is a lightweight linux distribution with many customization options available per emulator. Device will reboot twice as it expands the NTFS partition and converts it to exfat to fill the rest of the micro SD card.
When done remove the card from your computer and insert it into the second slot of your device, while it's off. On top of the device you will find newly designed shoulder buttons, and this is because the device is considerably thinner than the previous model, so notable in fact that it feels like a whole new handheld and the reduction in size means reduction in weight, coming in at just 232g which is fairly light for a metal device. The RG353M can run Android and or Linux, the Android OS is a little cumbersome to use with the tiny 3.5” touch screen, especially when typing, so I found myself using the linux OS because it’s just so easy to use and comes pre-setup straight out of the box.This can be accomplished by either using either network connectivity (samba share or ftp) or by shutting down the device (start + power) then inserting the SD card into the computer.
