One of my television songs, A SQUASH AND A SQUEEZE, was made into a book in 1993, with illustrations by the wonderful Axel Scheffler. It was great to hold the book in my hand without it vanishing in the air the way the songs did. This prompted me to unearth some plays I’d written for a school reading group, and since then I’ve had 20 plays published. Most children love acting and it’s a tremendous way to improve their reading. I studied Drama and French at Bristol University, where I met Malcolm, a guitar-playing medic to whom I’m now married. This is a weeks unit of work around The Everywhere Bear. By the end of the week, the children will write their own alternative part of the story. My son and I first enjoyed a book by this pair last year, when my son was obsessed with It's a Little Baby. So after reading that at least a thousand times, I was delighted when I was sent The Everywhere Bear, even though I knew I would probably know all the words off by heart by the end of the week!

My real breakthrough was THE GRUFFALO, again illustrated by Axel. We work separately - he’s in London and I’m in Glasgow - but he sends me letters with lovely funny pictures on the envelopes. In "The Everywhere Bear" by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Rebecca Cobb we get to take a look in a school. We visit Class One, led by Mrs. McAllister. Not only are there a bunch of great kids in the class, they have a very special friend- the Everywhere Bear. He sits on a shelf and he gets to go and have adventures with each kid. On one journey, he accidentally gets lost and we experience him going on an adventure that no one could have predicted. The illustrations are great! They give the readers a great view about the town and community. From the classroom to the sea, there are all sorts of brilliant scenes for us to view. We get see a lot of the action and, even though he's only a little bear, the Everywhere Bear sure goes on an amazing adventure!PE days: Tuesday AM (indoor) and Friday (outdoor) Please make sure that your child's PE kit is brought in on a Monday ready for the week. Absolutely! It's a beautiful children's book with gorgeous illustrations and I'm sure all children will enjoy it! The Everywhere Bear is a gentle story about a class of children who take home a toy bear each weekend and share photos of their fun times together. We will also be preparing for our Saint David's Day Eisteddfod. We will be exploring Welsh castles, traditional food, danceandstories!

Welcome to the home school learning experience. Every week I will be putting a weekly plan on here for you to complete so that you can continue your learning while school is closed. There is a literacy and a maths activity every day and a topic activity once a week. Before you start reading look at the cover and imagine together why the story might be called the ‘Everywhere Bear’. Read the story aloud, pausing to think about what might happen next when the bear is washed down the drain and what the children’s favourite place might be. Join in I also continued to write “grown-up” songs and perform them in folk clubs and on the radio, and have recently released two CDs of these songs.Funnily enough, I find it harder to write not in verse, though I feel I am now getting the hang of it! My novel THE GIANTS AND THE JONESES is going to be made into a film by the same team who made the Harry Potter movies, and I have written three books of stories about the anarchic PRINCESS MIRROR-BELLE who appears from the mirror and disrupts the life of an otherwise ordinary eight-year-old. I have just finished writing a novel for teenagers. A scavenger hunt around your house, can you find 1 or 2 items beginning with each letter that is in the words HAPPY EASTER? There are a variety of characters to relate to, each with differing appearance and hobbies. I really like that the Everywhere Bear gets to play with each of his friends differently. The text features a lot of rhyming which makes the story quite fun and I feel like it's very encouraging to try new things.

A gorgeously evocative musical tale of friendship, adventure and imagination, with a slightly smelly, yet well-loved bear. The new boy at school, Matt, accidentally loses the bear and the majority of the story focuses on the bear’s journey and adventures. What a lovely book! Gorgeous illustrations and rhyming throughout, the story of a classroom teddy bear is a delight. As a class teacher and parent I thoroughly enjoyed sharing this with my year 1 class and my own little boy! Hope you all enjoy the holidays, I thought I would set you a small fun challenge to do with your family. You could all have a go and see who can find the most items. One of my grandchildren was very into vehicles and machinery at the time, so with that in mind I included a crane, a boat, a crane and a vehicle for painting stripes on the road in my teddybear’s adventures.

When you read the book again children might like to join in with parts of the story, for example some of the things you children do with the bear at the weekends or by completing some of the rhymes eg give it a cuddle, tumbled into a puddle. Lottie Johnson and Calum Bruce are our delightful storytelling, singing puppeteers, who carefully escort EB and Matt through their adventure, performing numerous characters on the way. At times it’s perilous for the small bear, and rather sad for Matt, but the performance is beautifully engaging and funny, punctuated by Julian Butler’s charming songs.
