Catch The Moon" tells the story of a little monkey that doesn’t want to go to bed. Instead he decides to catch the moon. Will he succeed? Music Video –“Frost Waltz” by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License, http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Author Efrat Haddi is taking young children on a journey with the little monkey as he finds a way to catch the moon. As you may have guessed, Catch the Moon is about climbing up into the night sky to grab that globe of glorious Gouda….haha okay so even I know the moon is not made of cheese. But how cool would that be?!After reading “Catch the Moon” and “The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant one can conclude that the two stories have similarities and difference. The short story “Catch the Moon” is about a disobedient teenager named Luis who works off community service hours at his dad’s Junkyard but when he was stalling to clean hubcaps that his father wanted him told him to do a girl named Naomi came to the Junkyard and asks Luis’s father to search for a specific hubcap for an old vintage car and when Luis sees Naomi he instantly falls in love with her and looks for and cleans the hubcap that Naomi looked for and also made a display of hubcaps for his father's job and goes to Naomi’s home to give it to her to see if he’ll get the girl. They are bent in different shapes, and some have rungs missing (on purpose! No need to call Kosmos!). The raindrops are lovely chunky wooden tokens too, and it all slots onto a cloud base that looks champion on the table. I am slightly worried that we might play this so much that we end up snapping a ladder or two. But that is surely the sign of an excellent game – wearing out solid components through overuse must be a publisher’s dream! Players take turns rolling a die to determine how they must place their wooden ladder (must touch one other ladder, two other ladders, or be the highest point) Did you use your imagination, in trying to do that impossible thing? If so, how did imagination help you? If you didn’t use imagination in trying to achieve your special task, how about you use it now? What are some ways that you could have achieved this thing you really wanted, which seemed impossible, by using your imagination? Poem for Kids written by Phoebe Coghlan Illustrated by Tanya RazumnaIf you drop your ladder or any ladders fall off onto the cloud base or the table, they are removed from the game, and you receive a raindrop. The game ends when either (a) all the ladders are used or (b) all 7 raindrops have been taken. And the winner is the player with the fewest raindrops in total! Delivery is always fast and I have never received a game in bad condition. 10/10 would recommend. Women’s roles in society were a controversial thing in the past, women weren’t allowed to act the way they wanted. In the “Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin, Mrs. Mallard has felt trapped since her marriage but becomes overflowed with joy and the idea of freedom but in the end she dies. In “The Waltz” by Dorothy Parker, the narrator is forced to dance but she doesn’t speak her mind and acts as if everything was fine. Women’s roles in society were very similar but also different, women didn’t have the freedom to speak their mind or had freedom in general which is seen in both the stories.

Would you ever think a member of the Nazi party would save over a 1,000 Jews during the holocaust? Because Thomas Keneally’s novel and Steven Spielberg’s film, Schindler’s List is the account of one such individual. Oskar Schindler was a German manufacturing tycoon in occupied Poland who decides to hire and protect his Jewish workers from certain death in labor camps. In the novel, Thomas Keneally shows Oskar Schindler’s roguish and rebellious personality by describing his manner and appearance with descriptive language, characterization, and dialogue whereas in the movie, Spielberg does this through expositions, point of view shots, and shot reverse shot.Hills like White Elephants,” by Ernest Hemmingway and, “The Story of an Hour,” by Kate Chopin are both short stories that take place in short periods of time and focus on the relationship of a couple. Though the stories differ greatly, they are similar in that they both include the use of a train as a symbol and in their focus of the women in the relationships introduced. The trains in both stories are the most significant similarity because they represent the different futures that Jig and Mrs. Mallard could have. While Hemmingway leaves his short story with an open ending regarding Jig’s future, Chopin reveals the outcome of Mrs. Mallard’s future.

There are games that you just want to pull out and play with minimal fuss and set up, just to have a good time. Catch the Moon is one of those games. A simple concept with simple execution and a fun hook leads to lots of fun. Efrat Haddi is a superb story teller, whether telling something serious or funny. In this humorous book with a delightful monkey as a character, she tells a fun tale based upon the customary habit, a very good habit, of kids using their imagination, sometimes to do something that is possible, and sometimes, as in this funny book, to do the impossible. The story is not only enjoyable, but it will prompt children to think. Open the box and you’ll find a dice, some raindrop tokens, a plethora of wooden ladders and a plastic cloud shaped base. To set-up the game you will put the three ‘normal’ shaped ladders into the base randomly and you are ready. On your turn you roll the dice which will tell you that you must place a new ladder touching exactly one or two ladders or being the highest ladder on the cloud. Make any ladders fall or touch the cloud and you take a raindrop. Three raindrops ends the game and the person with the least raindrops wins. Easy.

I thought this was very well written and illustrated, too. Of how this little monkey wanted help to catch the moon and asked the reader or listener for help . Therefore I wish to recommend this terrific ebook for four stars and for kids ages 0-8 . Great online store for board games. They always arrive perfectly and undamaged which is important to me.
