About this deal

The other spices were there but I found they was the right amount for each one, so it tasted more of a blend of them and gave a distinct taste. The drink itself is very palatable - with orange being the dominant flavour supported by a well spiced background. Highland Nectar Whisky Liqueur is a marriage of Scotch whisky with infusions of bitter orange, star anise, nutmeg, vanilla, ginger and cinnamon. The whisky is sweet due to the infusion of the other spices and flavours and I’m really enjoying a small glass of this each night. A 15-year-old Glenallachie single malt, matured in a combination of Pedro Ximenez and oloroso sherry casks, creating a smooth, rich character. I’m not a fan of straight whisky so I won’t try and go into detail of something I have little experience of but what I can say is even if you’re not a fan of straight whisky, but you do like sweet drinks, then this is a great middle ground of the two.

First impressions are good; the squat dark glass bottle has an old-fashioned (in a positive sense) appearance with a rather attractive gold / honey coloured branding which suits the theme well enough. This time, it’s the distillery manager Gordon who has picked his favourite combination of casks to create the most moreish of whiskies. Experience a wonderful blend of Highland Whisky and sweet spices in this Scottish liqueur; Highland Nectar. The 'hot highlander' is probably best avoided if you don't want to be bouncing off the walls, but a simple shot of fresh or bottled lemon juice and hot water works well enough.A luscious concoction of Scotch whisky infused with herbs and spices - notably bitter orange, lemon oil, vanilla, ginger, and cinnamon. A delicious marriage of unpeated Highland Scotch whiskies and herbs, fruits and spices such as bitter orange, vanilla, nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon. Enjoy Highland Nectar neat or over ice as an after-dinner sipper, mix it with soda water for a sweet, refreshing Highball or try it in a classic cocktail such as a Bobby Burns.
