About this deal

Instead of doing the honourable thing and either marrying her or threatening any and all onlookers to never repeat what they saw, he leaves her like a used whore to be ruined, with the famous parting words "Shoot me". But boy, did he won me over in the end not by changing into someone unrecognizable but just by being him and falling in love with Jessica. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about both the main characters in this rich tale and liked them straight away. So why in Gods name did she want, and eventually love a moron that liked whores and had so much self issues it was ghastly?

So many friends recommended that I read Lord of Scoundrels, and I can’t believe it took me so long to pick up this book! The trouble is, the devil in question is so shockingly irresistible, and the person who needs the most saving is—herself! I'm so glad that this wicked hero was able to be redeemed, and I enjoyed reading about his stubborn journey towards love. Esos diálogos vibrantes y excitantes, cómicos y llenos de emoción a la vez, esas secuencias inesperadas, era narración ágil, que no se entretiene en cosas que no nos interesan. Personally, I am always thankful when the author dictates the tone of the story early on, as it saves me from all the guessing games. The two exchange wits; Jessica requests that Dain send her brother back to England in exchange for a valuable religious icon she will sell him, while Dain wants the icon or else he will destroy her reputation and ruin her brother. It started off really well - from the first time they met and how she struck him dumb with her repartee! He's determined to continue doing what he does best—sin and sin again—and all that's going swimmingly, thank you . He is very rude to her as he does not spend time with ladies (other than prostitutes) after one tried to trap him into marriage years ago. Jessica, sensing she has an opportunity to remove her brother from Dain’s wicked influence, offers to give the icon to him if he will agree to send her brother back home.

He needs to face the child he was (he literally does this with his own illegitimate child) and overcome his feeling of inadequacy. She told herself she ought not feel in the least surprised that the cocksure clod pole proposed to settle matters by making her his mistress. For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honey-comb, and her mouth is smoother than oil,’” he read. His own father considered him a punishment because of Lucia’s enjoyment of “lewd unnatural conjugal acts,” and after the birth of his son, never again went to her bed. But, having said that, I understand that although I didn't like some aspects, that's not the case for everyone, as is obvious from the book's enduring popularity.

The Marquess is disgusted with the child, describing him as the "Devil's spawn" and a "wizened olive thing with large black eyes, ill-proportioned limbs, and a grossly oversize nose".

Him burning the house down while his father, the one that miraculously wants to make him very happy after hating him for 8 years, smiles idly?Chase instead modeled Jessica after the type of women who lived a few generations previously and who had "a more practical, frank attitude toward sex". This 'Regency' story doesn't have the standard topic, or the ordinary lovely goodlooking larger-than-life Lord.
