These shows were performed by the first full lineup of the band, which consisted of Lowy and Stevens along with drummer Frank Ferrer (also of Guns N' Roses), guitarist Richard Fortus (also of Guns N' Roses, formerly of Thin Lizzy and Psychedelic Furs), bassist Marco Mendoza ( Whitesnake/Thin Lizzy), and pianist Dizzy Reed (from Guns N' Roses). This current iteration of The Dead Daisies also features Doug Aldrich ( Whitesnake, Dio, House of Lords) and the group's founder David Lowy ( Mink) on guitars and Brian Tichy ( Whitesnake, Foreigner, Billy Idol) on drums. The Dead Daisies feature in some of the episodes and their music from the 2018 album 'Burn It Down' is used as the soundtrack. And that sadly just leaves the one remaining track: ‘Roll On’ another of the real gems is a stripped back rocker that allows Hughes to shine: soulful, heart wrenching and wonderfully orchestrated it’s a song I could see bothering the charts if those things matter any more. Regardless of whether we’re underwhelmed or not, we still catch ourselves mouthing the words to Hypnotize Yourself and Shine On.

On the 4 December the next single 'Holy Ground' which is also the title track of the forthcoming album was released and was added to the Planet Rock 'A' playlist. In late February 2015, the Dead Daisies became the first American rock band to play Cuba since the Obama administration reopened trade ties [28] and made history as part of a cultural exchange as guests of the Cuban Ministry of Culture, Cuban Institute of Music and the Cuban Rock Agency. Along with the EP, a Facebook app was launched where fans would send in pictures of themselves to try and win prizes. This year so far we’ve had a series of live tracks starting with ‘Rise Up’ from the ‘Live from Daisyland EP’ and as we approach the US Fall Tour it’s finally time for the new record ‘Radiance’. The band embarked on their latest US Tour on 7 September starting at the Landis Theater in Vineland, New Jersey, and finishing at The Crocodile in Seattle on 24 September.Coming on like a runaway freight train, there is an unstoppable groove to this one and the guitar arrangement is just perfect. It’s been out a week, I’ve had it longer, I’ll explain why the review is late, however I will say that the first time I listened to it (this is genuinely true) it almost caused me to crash my car.

The guitars in particular sound as if they are being played through a veritable mountain range of speakers. A nice scream from Hughes after the second chorus fades into the instrumental, bringing the band close to LED ZEPPELIN territory. On 13 August, a short film inspired by the recent US tour and song 'Like No Other' was premiered with an inspiring and positive message going forward and leading back to live music once more. On 11 January the European tour due to start in February was postponed due to the worldwide pandemic. Our first meta cinematic for ‘Radiance’ will transport you into a parallel universe with the Daisies’ digital offspring, The Meta Daisies.

In June 2015 the band, featuring Tommy Clufetos (formerly with Black Sabbath and with Ozzy Osborne solo performances) on drums, supported Kiss again on their European tour, and also took in the Rock in Vienna Festival, Download Festival UK and Graspop Metal Meeting Belgium. If you do want to give it a miss, we're in the process of speaking with the promoters to work something out. Coinciding with the tour of the UK, Britain's Classic Rock magazine included a feature on the Dead Daisies in its November 2013 issue. Once again, producer Ben Grosse’s exquisite knob twiddling has made this collection of songs breathe, even on slow burners like Courageous and Cascade, where the lord of the riffs Aldrich sounds otherworldly.

The tempo rises for the awesome ‘Born to Fly’ which has multiple layers of massive guitar chording providing a solid bedrock for Hughes’ ever classy vocals.

What if we were to remind people these points also bring a modicum of pressure when supergroups want to make their own material rather than rest on the laurels of these illustrious pasts? At the beginning of 2020, finishing touches and final mixing of the next album was completed with producer Ben Grosse. Such is the present music climate, The Dead Daisies will never enjoy the status of having ‘the classic album’. This was followed by 'Hypnotize Yourself' in August with the fourth single 'Face Your Fear' coming on 2 September.

In early November, the band rejoined Kiss on the Kiss Kruise VI for a record third time, then set off for a massive UK and European trek on a co-headline tour with Irish rock band the Answer to finish off 2016 with tickets selling out well in advance.They have partnered with sports organizations like the New York Yankees and NASCAR as well as working on a promotion with Harley-Davidson including three exclusive biker shows at Sturgis Full Throttle Saloon on 9 August and two shows at the start of September, the Easyriders Rodeo Tour in Ohio and the National HOG Rally in Milwaukee. The slow build to ‘Hypnotize Yourself’ and the jagged and forceful chorus that punctuates it, is all power and passion.
