About this deal

I was going to give this book 1 star, but the ending made me give 0 (if possible). I can't express my hatred for that devastating and unnecessary situation, and especially how the heroine handled it, I've honestly never met a character as selfish as her, the way she compared the pain of both, and how she wanted him to choose her in that moment that he had lost so and was completely broken. I mean, the man raised her child, doesn't want to separate from her, and understandably wants to maintain a connection with her for a little longer. And that's too much to ask? So much of this book didn’t need to be there and added nothing to the story. (Also a problem in book one but I was willing to let it go) But by the end I was just mad at myself for wasting my time.

Honestly, I did prefer this second part more than the first, but I still think it was completely unnecessary. I should've braced for impact and put my emotions and my freakin heart in a bubble wrap like I wanted to do all along. Now, I do mention in my vlog that there is something that happens and is very spoiler-y, but it can also be a huge trigger for people. Therefore, as I mentioned in my vlog, I am leaving a spoiler here for those who have death as a TW:

so thayer is a single dad to a 6-year-old boy (forrest) and separated from his ex, he hires salem to babysit his son whilst he goes to work. i really didn't see this plot twist coming and i'm annoyed because this is one of my pet peeves in romance. there is no reason why a perfectly healthy child should die as a plot point to separate a couple and give them another book! PDF / EPUB File Name: The_Confidence_of_Wildflowers_-_Micalea_Smeltzer.pdf, The_Confidence_of_Wildflowers_-_Micalea_Smeltzer.epub The supporting characters- Caleb, Lauren and Salem's family are quite one dimensional. Caleb's personality is just loving Salem and being a mama's boy, there's literally nothing more to him. Lauren is described as quirky but there's no story to her, no life to her. Salem's mother and sisters though play a very important role in her life, not much of them is shown. also, i find it quite distasteful that salem is now pregnant at the end too. like seriously? one child dies and is now being replaced with another???? 😭😭😭😭Thayer and Salem’s relationship started out as this professional neighbor relationship that grew into friendship and slowly turned into something more. It was unexpected and slow moving but their attraction was explosive and you felt it when they were close to each other. But with an age gap and Thayer being a newly divorced single dad, what does that mean for their future relationship? Will they finally give into Temptation? But as the story goes on, you truly see how strongly Thayer feels for Salem. I loved all the interactions with Thayer’s son, Forrest. He is such a great kid and he would say the sweetest things to Salem🥺. Additionally, the age gap between Salem and Thayer, a central theme of the book, could have been explored with more depth and complexity. While their connection was undeniably heartwarming, it sometimes felt like Thayer did not fully embody his age due to his actions and choices, which made the age gap less noticeable than expected. Salem has stayed away for years - concentrating on raising her daughter. She married and divorced her high school bf (Caleb) who stepped up to be the father her child needed and to be a husband Salem could have gotten if she had never met Thayer. I went into this book with high expectations and was left extremely disappointed, which is so annoying because I thought the story had so much potential.

you never planned on keeping seda a secret??? Really? I’m supposed to believe that when she thinks someone else is her dad? SHES never heard of Thayer? No, instead she marries the ex boyfriend she cheated on with Thayer, let’s him raise Thayer’s daughter, married him knowing Caleb loves her more than she loves him, and is still in love with another man the whole time they’re together. From that moment I couldn't care less about the couple, I just kept reading because I hate giving up the book (I learned my mistake). I didn't feel their passion, everything happened absurdly fast, and the heroin started to irritate me more and more.Btw the pain that I had to endure towards the end of this book was insane. THAT part was so unexpected and took me by complete surprise, I have still not recovered.

Salem and Thayer keep their feelings and budding relationship a secret when there is no need. It was the strangest relationship progression I've ever read. So many grand gestures like Thayer building a home gym in his basement just for Salem (we're talking thousands of dollars worth of equipment) but oh no they definitely are NOT dating yet....He finds out early he has a daughter and his remorse for how he handled things is heartbreaking. His attempt to fix their relationship and the years he missed. He bought all her candles as this was all he had left of her and creating the nursery with her favorite flowers (swoon). I love Caleb and I hope that he will have his own book in the future because he is one of the sweetest human beings ever. if you are the author of this book DO NOT read this review as you will not like anything that will be said here.
