About this deal

Two Lines, No Waiting: Three, technically; the chapters cycle between points of view of Tieron, Valerian and Aleya. In The Regent's Shadow, Tieron is replaced by Jek. The Captain-General personally oversees the select inner corps of three hundred Custodians, known as the Companions, who actually serve the Emperor as His personal bodyguards within the sacred chambers of the Sanctum Sanctorum, the Throneroom of the Imperial Palace where the ancient prosthetic device known as the Golden Throne contains the withered corpse of the God-Emperor Himself. Both the Allarus Custodians and Custodian Guards do splendidly in range and melee combat. Allarus Custodians have the privilege of Teleport Homer, meaning they can be redeployed elsewhere on the board 9″ away from enemy units. As we’ve covered in previous Boarding Patrol articles, any unit that can disappear and reappear somewhere else is extremely useful and will want to be used very strategically – imagine squatting some beefy Custodians on unclaimed objectives, giving your opponent thought for pause before they consider taking it for themselves. Example: Every model in Emily’s army has the ADEPTUS CUSTODES keyword. She selects Rendax as her primary ka’tah, Dacatarai as her secondary ka’tah and Calistus as her tertiary ka’tah. In her first command phase, she selects Rendax stance 2 to be active.

The Speechless: As a Sister of Silence, Aleya has taken a vow to never speak a word. When she has to communicate with others, she does so in Hand Signals, though there are only a few people who can understand it. She lets out a battle cry at the very end of The Emperor's Legion, as she believes she's about to die. Objective markers represent objects of tactical or strategic import that both sides are attempting to secure, such as valuable artefacts, vital supplies or communications nodes. If a mission uses objective markers, it will state where they are located on the battlefield. These can be represented using any suitable marker, but we recommend using round markers that are 40mm in diameter. Networked Machine Spirits – 1CP: Use in your Shooting phase. Choose a Venerable Land Raider and at least one other Venerable Land Raider within 6″. None of those models suffer any penalties to hit rolls until the end of the phase. You are not going to have multiple Venerable Land Raiders on the board. DAdeptus Custodes have three default special rules. Aegis of the Emperor applies to all Custodes units with the rule (which is currently only INFANTRY and BIKER), and The Emperor’s Chosen and Sworn Guardians affect INFANTRY and BIKER units in Adeptus Custodes detachments. Aegis of the Emperor

Ever Vigilant – 2CP: Use immediately after your opponent sets up a unit on the battlefield within 12″ of an ADEPTUS CUSTODES INFANTRY unit. You can immediately shoot at -1 to hit. This is fine, but 2CP is a lot to invest when you will often only have smallish units of Custodes infantry on the board. Can be extremely relevant in the right situation, though. BIf you’re planning on hunting down a colossal Knight Abominant, or the new psychic monstrosities from Hive Fleet Leviathan, a cadre of Vigilators will cut them down to size. Stratagem Spotlight When setting objective markers up on the battlefield, place them so they are centred on the point specified by the mission. When measuring distances to and from objective markers, measure to and from the closest part of them. Models can move over objective markers as if they were not there, but they cannot end a move on top of an objective marker.

Champion of the Imperium: Friendly ADEPTUS CUSTODES INFANTRY, BIKER, and DREADNOUGHT units within 12″ of your Warlord at the start of your opponent’s Charge phase can Heroically Intervene. This is Trajann’s required trait. A solid trait and a great way to make your army into a solid deathball that can’t be charged – important in 9th where melee is powerful and key f Galahoth - Galahoth was the Chief Custodian and 15th Captain-General of the Adeptus Custodes. A notoriously conservative Captain-General, the Adeptus Custodes suffered stagnation under his rule. Galahoth disappeared sometime in the latter years of the 40th Millennium or the early 41st Millennium, which heralded the so-called Years of Madness, a time of strange omens and ominous whispers that engulfed Terra. There was a steady increase in cult activity -- both heretical and xenophile -- throughout the Sol System, which included the Throneworld as well. Galahoth was succeeded by Andros Launceddre.

What About Forge World?

A group of friends and I have a regular game going in TTS and the last time we played one of them said "I know you have a model called Trajann, but for the life of me I cannot remember what he looks like". The Custodian Guard, as they were also known, became the Emperor’s personal bodyguard (for they were few in number, and their skill in warfare unmatched) but Custodians could also occasionally be spared to lead particularly important missions, or as envoys. Roboute Guilliman makes scant few appearances at the end of the first book and the start of the second before departing to fight a Great Offscreen War, though it's implied he's keeping an eye on things through Valoris.
