A new colour changing gin from Roehill Springs Distillery, which uses their signature No 5 as the base, with the addition of the magical butterfly pea flower botanical.

Referring to the technical information sheets which I was provided with, I learned that the colour is “derived in part from gardenia flowers and a final infusion with bergamot oil”. Our Walter Smith True Blue Gin is a high quality blend of botanicals, produced by a multi award winning distiller based in Scotland. Our gin is distilled by hand in small batches using pure spring water from our own deep water source combined with fragrant botanicals and fresh citrus fruits. This exotic herb balances the citrus notes of our gin with a warm herbal earthiness and gives the gin its distinctive natural royal blue colour. The Blue Pea blossom mirrors the pH balance of its companion, adjusting its colour to a soft pink due to the tonic’s acidity. Original Blue Gin is a product of Gonzalas Byass who are a Spanish wine/cellars company which also produces a variety of distilled spirits including brandy, anisette, botanical vodka and of course gin.The gin's purple hue adds a touch of elegance to any drink, and its unique taste is sure to impress any gin connoisseur. I want to note that the sample bottle I was given for this review was the older bottle style (see below). Try our Adam bottle for a traditionally boyish theme, or choose the Diamond to create a cool, ice-inspired effect.
