About this deal

Alfie Allen has starred in a range of TV shows but he’s best known for playing Theon Greyjoy in Game of Thrones. Lance Corporal Clive Severn was reported missing at sea whilst on board the submarine H.M.S. Triumph later presumed killed in action. Mentioned in Despatches (posthumous) in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in the Middle East. The soft-spoken desert warrior was not without his demons, though, and could act out in unsettling ways. Gunner Joe Kearney was attached to No.11 Commando 1 Troop from the 57th (Newfoundland) Heavy Regiment Royal Artillery. He was reported missing 24 November 1941 after Operation Flipper in the Western Desert, later found to be a prisoner of war.

SAS: Rogue Heroes – a historical drama depicting the fascinating true story of how the famed Special Air Service was formed – is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer. The six-part series has been created by Peaky Blinders writer Steven Knight, and is based on the bestselling book of the same name by historian Ben Macintyre. His shyness – especially around women – and his propensity for bouts of drunken violence have fed into the myth of the repressed homosexual.

Sir Ambrose Joseph McGonigal, MC (22 November 1917 – 22 September 1979) [1] was a High Court Judge in Northern Ireland. Private Joseph Duffy joined L Detachment, SAS, from No 11 Commando on the 28th August 1941 and was accidentally killed in training due to a parachute failure, along with his friend and fellow Seaforth Highlander, Private Kenneth Warburton. Location given as East side of the Great Bitter Lake. Jimmy was a Piper in the Gordon Highlanders. He volunteered immediately after the formation of No.11 Commando when Colonel Pedder was seeking a Piper. He did most of his training on the Isle of Arran and was billeted at Lamlash.

Corporal Edward Barr was attached to No.11 Commando until joining No.1 Special Boat Section in the Middle East. He was awarded the Military Medal in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in the Middle East on 9/10 June 1942 [1][2][3]. This act of bravery led to Mayne being put forward for a Victoria Cross, the highest honour the British State can bestow. The young actor starred alongside Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand in the film The Tragedy of Macbeth.Yet his name is little known outside of the realm of military history buffs, and perhaps, thanks to a pending BBC drama, also Tom Hardy fans.
