And this is when my problems with this book really started—the moment when we hit the previous content but now only in different POV.

He's the H who appears, on the surface of it all, to be the most aloof, urbane and perhaps the classiest. Dante's the sort of guy who will fit in well amongst bankers, businessmen and politicians. Giulia always knew she’d marry a man her father chose for her. Only she never expected to be given to someone much older. The way they handled the pregnancy was so childish, after they decide not to interrupt it and that Aria and Luca will adopt the baby, Gianna and Matteo decide to simply ignore that she is pregnant, continue with their lives as if nothing happened and not mention or discuss anything related to the pregnancy between them, they refer to the baby as "it" and let Aria take care of everything, because they can't handle it, realyyy again they are two Adults grown a pair and act like that.

Even if Luca was never my favourite, i still liked him. But here, he was UNBEARABLE! The way he spoke to Gianna all the time and his arrogance...SO annoying!

I am giving this book four and a half stars because I thought the writing was FABULOUS, but this book seemed to me to mostly further the plotlines of other characters and the series as a whole, rather than much of Val and Dante's relationship. This book definitely put me through the ringer, angst-wise. I don't read too many books where it's the heroine panting after the hero and the hero acts like he doesn't care. That sums it up a bit too simplistically so let me elaborate. This is the second book in the "Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles", it's about a group of young women (all friends) who are thrust into arranged marriages. These girls are strategically matched to their spouses to gain more power and status in the Outfit. I enjoyed the first book "Bound by Honor" a lot, maybe it was because the hero was crazy jealous and possessive even though he did cheat... I don't know, what do you think? Conclusion: if you don't want to hate Aria and Luca (more), possibly Matteo and Gianna, don't read their novella. In my humble opinion, it would have been far more better if they didn’t have children but anyway I really loved their part cz it showed the genuine side of motherhood which is not all heart and flowers. So it is appreciated 💕this took me a while to read, not cause it was bad but I just needed to be in the right mood ig and I really enjoyed it! Since this series is technically over for the five main couples, I'll just say my overall thoughts: This novel also sets up a few future spin off novels, with the MC's kids as the stars of their own stories. It was also very gratifying to see Bibiana, the minor character who'd experienced severe domestic marital abuse, get her well deserved HEA with a wonderful new husband. She resents the life forced upon her by her family until everything she took for granted is ripped from her. Where she’s now, her name doesn’t bring awe, only pain and humiliation.

I swear these people have an obsession with marrying young girls and with the place of a woman in that world. They are only good for procreation and to make alliances. They need to be seen not heard and in the event where they get a good, equal opportunity husband, they can only be themselves in private because God forbid someone gets the wrong impression that the big bad mobster can’t control his wife. I was not really a fan of the first Dante&Val book, but I was ready to be convinced. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I'm so mad that I wasted my time reading this book, it was so bad, some of the stories, the writing, the characters, it was just a disaster. LO MEJOR, Cara y Ryan: llore como un bebe por la muerte de Coco y Bandit, por ellos termine de leer esta antología, anhelaba saber más de ellos y me hace muy feliz que hayan logrado tener un final feliz. Dante is a different sort of mafia H, when compared Luca ( Bound by Honor, Bound by Love, Luca Vitiello ), Fabiano, Nino and Remo ( Twisted Loyalties, Twisted Hearts, and Twisted Pride ).

I am excited for the books to come though! The fantastic thing about this novel, is that the MC's romance continues beyond their HEA ending in Bound by Duty. By the middle of this story, Dante and Valentina are already in love, their daughter Anna is born and their relationship issues have already been sorted out. I don't know what to say here... it just reminded me of how idiotic plan Aria had. What else can I say? One of my highlights of this fantastic story was seeing Val and Dante interact with their kids and watching them grow up and develop quite the interesting and completely different personalities as well as seeing some of my beloved secondary characters again like sweet Bibianna and finding out who her love interest is. There are also hints for some more potential couples in the future books as well which you will find very exciting!
