About this deal

This is the only episode in the series where Nani is seen in her iconic blue-and-green striped bikini from the original movie. She wore it twice in this episode: first at the Birds of Paradise Hotel pool, and later at the beach near the end of the episode. Ploot" is the forty-eighth episode Lilo & Stitch: The Series. It first aired on April 22 (Earth Day), 2005. Lilo & Stitch (2002) takes place in Hawaii and follows the story of Lilo, a young and parentless girl who adopts Stitch from the local pound, absolutely oblivious to the fact Stitch is an alien experiment that landed on Earth and is now hiding from its creators and those who see it as a menace. Broken Aesop: How does Lilo defeat the experiment designed to spread pollution? Aerosol-based air fresheners, which were historically bad for the environment as they often use ozone-depleting chemicals such as chlorofluorocarbons as their primary propellants.

Earth Day Episode: This episode first aired and is set on Earth Day and features a Green Aesop about pollution. In " Felix", Cannonball was seen ruining the beach with his tsunami-sized waves, implying that he was incompletely rehabilitated. Hamlette was mentioned by Pleakley in this episode when he said, "Is that the one that turns everything into ham?" One of the locations seen in the episode (that Cannonball almost jumps into) is the Waita Reservoir, a real-life water reservoir located in the south of Kaua‘i. It is Hawaii's second-largest body of fresh water in surface area, with only Halali‘i Lake on Ni‘ihau being larger. Purple Is Powerful: The first three experiments Lilo gets to fight Ploot all happen to be strong, purple-bodied experiments. Subverted in that they're not strong enough to defeat the giant Ploot.Sparky (X-221): Lilo tries to get him to help fight Ploot, but for some reason, an unseen man inside Kilauea Lighthouse complains about the beacon going out (in the middle of daytime), forcing Sparky to stay inside. It is the anniversary of when Lilo and Nani's parents passed away. They both feel very depressed, especially Lilo. She takes a nap to deal with her sadness while her sister goes for a long, silent walk to deal with her own sadness and, at the same time, tries to find a way to make Lilo and herself feel better. However, recently activated Experiment 276, designed to invade people's dreams and transform them into nightmares, shows up at their house. Jumba and Pleakley search the house, making sure nobody is asleep. They find Stitch awake, but find Lilo asleep, and witness 276 enter her dream. Jumba warns Pleakley not to wake Lilo because if she regains consciousness while 276 is still inside her dream, the experiment will remain inside her mind forever, turning all future dreams into nightmares. They thing they can do is enter Lilo's dream and capture 276 before she wakes up. To accomplish this, Jumba recommends using a failed nuclear powered spatula that he fashioned for Nani, which happens to work as a teleportation device, making it possible to transport beings into dreams. Oddly enough, neither Moses nor Mertle and the hula girls noticed that Lilo went to hula school straight from the beach in only her swimsuit at the beginning of the episode.

Sinker (X-602): Lilo tries to get him to help fight Ploot, but he's too busy at the Japanese restaurant to help. When Gantu notices Cannonball passing by, he says, "Just follow the bouncing abomination." This is a reference to the bouncing ball seen in sing-along videos in which viewers follow an animated ball that bounces across the top of the lyrics, landing on each syllable when it is to be sung. Stitch is seen wearing his superhero costume that consists of all stolen items: a pair of red sunglasses, a red towel, a green bikini top, and a letter S (from the PARADISE POOL sign).
