About this deal

Ever since the disappearance of her beloved younger brother, Violet's life has been consumed by an anger she struggles to control. Already a prisoner to her own nation, now she has been sentenced to death for her crimes.

UPDATE: Aug. 12, 2020, 3:12 p.m. PDT This article has been updated to correct an error in Zsuzsa James' last name.Gender, orientation, pairings, kinks, fetishes: Primarily trans women lesbian sex scenes with a bend toward sci-fi kinks. Equal parts Sin City and Shadowrun, Memoirs of a Battle Brothel is an RPG set in a cyberpunk-fantasy city called MoonFall that has lore so deep krakens could be swimming in it. As a facilitator for a branch of the MoonFall Courtesan's Guild, part of your job is managing and upgrading a brothel, but the majority of your job is negotiating with the city's many factions and occasional outbreaks of cosmic horror.

When it comes to Violet Bates, she may be a teen, but she also lives in a unique world. She is nineteen years old and a river splits up her world according to gender. It just so happens that in the east, women are able to live and rule, and the same is the true for the men of the west. I don’t even know where to begin with this review. This is an audio review, so excuse me as I shout-caps at you.

I’m not sure if I had any favorites in the book. There are three players in this book, Violet, Viggo and Lee. I would highly recommend this book to readers of dystopian fiction. There is a little romance in this book, but none of it is cheesy, everything is quite organic. The plot is unique and the world is definitely fun to read about....definitely different from anything I have read in a long while. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. But I want to be fair and honest, because that's the best purpose of a review, and it's what helps everybody the most -- including the author, the publisher, and most of all, the reader. My job here is primarily to make sure that you know what you're about to read, as a reader, right? I was indifferent to Lee and Viggo, but it’s obvious which character you are suppose to like, even when that came true, I was still indifferent. I guess I was interested more in the storyline.

What it is: We’re putting AChat here as a representative of the online multiplayer genre of porn games, with open world hubs for cybersex interactions that range from the flirty to the hardcore. While AChat was all we had immediate access to, other games of this variety came more highly recommended by our expert. Machulis suggested the more expansive, customizable, and graphically advanced 3DXChat (which requires a monthly subscription). James recommended Red Light Center, which appears more inclusive by offering transgender customization options. In AChat, you can initiate sex scenes with a partner and, if they consent, create a scene by choosing environments, positions, speed, arousal, etc. All in all, despite the inherent awkwardness of virtual sex with strangers through glitchy dolls, there’s an excitement and aliveness to role-playing with IRL people. It can be especially useful during the pandemic, when many folks are abstaining from real-life sexual encounters for public safety. I read this book in less than 24 hours, mainly because it's easy to digest, short and also because I ended up skipping the boring bits (I do this a lot with books - anything that's irrelevant to the storyline, you bet I'll skim right over). That's not to say this book wasn't somewhat entertaining - I did enjoy it to a point but I believe it has too many flaws and is too un-polished to receive any more than 2.5 stars.

The ethical questions around adult games

Gender, orientation, inclusivity, pairings, kinks, fetishes: The game caters to heterosexual cis men, limiting players to a male-presenting silhouette whose body type you can customize. Sexual acts are left up to your choice, and range from the vanilla to the kinky. I liked the character of Viggo. He seemed very developed and actually acted in a way that seemed true to his character. I dislike the name though...! Violet was quite unfortunate in this story that she kept finding her way into trouble. At points it even seemed like she was doing it on purpose as she had very little regard for rules and regulations, and just did things that she knew she shouldn’t be doing.

Gender isn't just screwing over trans people, it's messing with everyone. From little girls who think they can't be doctors to teenagers who come to expect street harassment. From exclusionist feminists to 'alt-right' young men. From men who can't cry to the women who think they shouldn't. As her body gets in line with her mind, Juno tells not only her own story, but the story Aside from that, there is a lot of action in the book, a scene of torture as well. Everything is very well written and easy to read. One thing leads to another and she is eventually out of second chances...it is either death or marry a man in Patrus for an undercover mission to recover a biological artifact that was stolen from Matrus. Oh my gosh, Bibliobuzzers. I was so excited when I started reading Gender Game by Bella Forrest. I seriously was. Though the blurb was different than most, it tends to be the case that every YA book ends up being the same book with a different cover. It’s dystopic, which means it will either be all Hunger Games or Selection series, right? I need a big old picture spelled out to me as I listen because let’s face it, I sometimes get distracted when I listening to my books. This is the first book I’ve read by Bella Forrest, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series! This is a dystopian Young Adult series that should appeal to readers of The Hunger Games and Divergent and similar books.
