As soon as I saw So This Is Ever After, I knew that I had to read it. The book was marketed as “Carry On meets Arthurian legend,” and if there’s one book people can name drop that will get me to read something, it’s Carry On. I will say, because of that comparison, I kind of assumed this would be an enemies to lovers story. I even read the synopsis, but clearly I wasn’t paying much attention, because that should have dissuaded that notion. However! I was so excited to find out that this was not an enemies to lovers but a friends to lovers story! If there’s one thing I enjoy more than the former trope, it's the latter. I know that’s probably an unpopular opinion, but that’s how it is for me. So, imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered that Arek had been secretly pining over Matt for a long time. And it was so obvious (to everyone but Arek that is) that Matt returned his feelings. I was sold instantly. When I write 2nd Epilogues, I try to answer readers’ lingering questions. In the case of On the Way to the Wedding, the question I heard the most post-publication was: What did Gregory and Lucy name all those babies? I’ll admit that even I don’t know how to craft a story revolving around the naming of nine infants (not all at once, thank heavens), so I decided to start the 2nd Epilogue right where the 1st Epilogue ends—with Lucy giving birth for the last time. And because everyone —even the Bridgertons— must face hardship, I didn’t make it easy… Start reading from On the Way to the Wedding, Book 8 in the Bridgerton series. the plot was HILARIOUS. not laughing-out-loud-and-then-awkwardly-stopping-because-people-are-staring hilarious, but funny enough that i screenshotted parts to bait my friends into reading this with me (none have joined me as of yet but i refuse to give up). the plot was based around a seemingly simple concept, however, the hijinks, mishaps, and chaotic clownery are what really made it so memorable. That change flipped the typical dynamic on its head, which I greatly enjoyed, as I'm not sure I've ever seen that approach in a romance before, so that fresh take was kind of cool. A range of brain imaging studies to show that we feel pleasure when we can punish those who do not conform to what we expect of them."

Some of the major questions Dolan discusses are thing such as: should you have children? Is monogamy optimal for happiness? Does wealth make us happier? What about education? And health? Dolan argues that it is because we are slaves to “social narratives” – that is, cultural assumptions and expectations that tell us how we ought to be have. Among these is the idea that money brings happiness. Recognizing these social narratives and their flimsy foundations is the basis of Dolan’s radical new approach to living well. A passionate, provocative book. It isn't just a self-help book. It is a manifesto for a better society' Sunday Times As he claims, hope is the enemy of acceptance. He presents this in the helathcare sector, where he talks about how people should rather accept their condition and enjoy the years that they still have left instead of expensive and often unsuccessful prolonging treatments. The Key to Happily Ever After is one of the best women’s fiction I have read this year & to top , it is set in Washington DC one of my fav places. A wonderful story about the de la Rosa sisters Mari, Jane & Pearl who have recently inherited the family business of wedding planning from their mother so there is a some chaos with managing the finances to keep the business successfully running then there are things unraveling at their personal front, their differences since its not easy to work together without clashing but the interest of the family & the business as to come first. I love how Tif Marcelo has knitted this story keeping the main focus on the sisters, their bond, will they be able to come together in this crisis despite their conflicts & how will they get through it writing an happily ever after for each other. This is the story about three sisters Jane, Pearl, and Mari who have taken over the wedding business that they have inherited from their family. This book is marketed as a romcom but it focused more on the relationship dynamics between the three sisters instead of the romance aspect. Fuentes, Tamara (August 25, 2022). But he never confesses. He stays oblivious when Matt starts to give him clues or tries returning his feelings. Instead he sets off to "Woo" other poeple. He spends sooo much time on "Wooing" others but he has no time for at least try and see what's in Matt's heart. Stupid. Stupid Stupid. Okay, it still was okay. I didn't mind the whole miscommunication plot...

I loved this book because I love reading about different cultures, and this highlighted the Filipino culture and the nuances on the importance of a close knit family, with gatherings and food in the center of it all. I also loved that this is about an honest story about the complex relationships of sisters. Gregory Bridgerton is around 12 years old in season one of the Netflix adaptation and is played by Will Tilston. Here are more books about the Bridgerton family’s adventures. Well, there is no shortage of fun and excitement like the sudden snowmageddon in the middle of spring, and other dramas that sure kept this story fun!

The summary of the book also sounded interesting. I have been reading a lot of historical mysteries as well as some heavy women’s fiction and frankly I needed something that was going to be more along the lines of a ‘rom-com’ and that’s exactly that this book promised on the description! Eloise Bridgerton is played by Claudia Jessie in the Netflix series. Marina Thompson is played by Ruby Barker and Phillip Crane by Chris Fulton. Looking for the best gift for a book lover? She tells him they need time apart to heal from their recent family traumas and she's decided to leave Vance Publishing to move to New York with Landon. Hardin is hurt by the bombshell and nearly hits Landon out of rage for not telling him, but Landon reminds him he is also Tessa's friend as much as Hardin is his brother. Tessa gives Hardin an ultimatum that if he loves her, he'll not follow her to NYC and let them have their time apart, to which he reluctantly agrees. Tessa takes double shifts to avoid Hardin, but Landon and Hardin come to her restaurant and request her as their server. Hardin stays until she's off work and they talk about how they've been; Hardin's sobriety and Tessa waiting to get accepted into NYU. Over the next couple of days, they spend time together, slowly reconnecting, during which Landon finally starts a romantic relationship with Nora, much to Hardin and Tessa's happiness.

The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After - Julia Quinn

The de la Rosa family and their wedding planning business have been creating happily ever afters in the Washington, DC area for years, making even the most difficult bride’s day a fairytale. But when their parents announce their retirement, the sisters—Marisol, Janelyn, and Pearl—are determined to take over the business themselves. Instead, Arek goads Matt into helping him woo their other friends, hoping that one will reciprocate and save Arek from death. All the while, Arek pines over the mage and best friend who’s been by his side for years, oblivious to the fact that love may have been right in front of him all along. I was off to a bad start with this book when the author proclaimed that as an LSE professor he was not expected to swear. He then goes on to say that there is no correlation to swearing being due to poor vocabulary/and or low intelligence. There is however evidence to suggest that students pay more attention to a teacher who swears! That's my exclamation point. The author then says that swearing is only ever harmful when it is aggressive or abusive and proceeds to litter the book with swearing as if to prove his point. This I found unnecessary and crude and felt it didn't help me learn in the slightest. However, the book largely falls apart in the final section, Responsible. Here, we learn about 3 additional "social narratives": Altruism, Health, and Free will. The psychological studies cited here are all incredibly sketchy and have inconsistent results - as the author freely admits.Norman, Dalton (July 4, 2023).
