Crossroads is a 1988 music collection box set of the work of Eric Clapton released by Polydor Records. [1] The set includes his work with the Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Delaney & Bonnie & Friends and Derek and the Dominos, as well as his solo career. Episode 3133 from April 1979 – Trina confesses to Doris she’s been winding Joe MacDonald up to teach him a lesson. Sandy suggests to Diane that Chris’ plans for the wedding reception are becoming a tad excessive. Rosemary Hunter indulges in a favourite past time, poking fun at Diane Parker. Doris offers to help out at Cyril’s shop, showing him how much of a scrubber she can be. Episode 3022 from October 1978 – Diane and Jane are convinced that their flat is being targeted by a prowler, but Steve is sceptical. When they find one of Jane’s dresses sliced up, he changes his tune. Helen’s promises of fun for Bernard turn out to be a big tease. Episode 3103 from February 1979 – Tish continues to become increasingly suspicious of Ted. After all, it isn’t the first time he’d had an affair. Remember Constance? The original premise of Crossroadswas based on the everyday lives of two feuding sisters, their businesses, staff and customers, specifically in relation to the Crossroads Motel, in the village of Kings Oak near Birmingham. On hearing that Heathbury town council wanted to build a motorway through part of her land, astutebusinesswoman Meg Richardson ( Noele Gordon) had used the compensation money the council offered, and her late husband Charles's insurance money, to convert their large Georgian home into a motel – a motor-hotel aimed at motorists with parking outside their chalet. Crossroads had 16 chalets, a reception, bar, kitchen, office and private sitting room. According to Meg, the clienteleincludedtourists who were journeying to places like "Stratford On Avon, the Lake District or even those breaking a journey going upto Scotland, as well as commercial travellers, people who have their business going up and down the Midlands, andtheatre people." Charles Richardson and Meg had two children: hotel receptionist Jill ( Jane Rossington), born in 1946, andschoolboy Alexander, or "Sandy" ( Roger Tonge), who was born in 1950. Episode 3040 from November 1978 – Doris confides to Diane that Ed’s well on his way to losing everything. Benny tries to get Shughie to give Doris a job – a situation which earns him the rough edge of her tongue. Irene Bailey’s plans to have an enjoyable suicide are almost thwarted by Jane. Benny Hawkins has a big sulk when he realises that he’ll never get beyond floor sweeper – foolishly, Mac offers to train him up. Shughie smiles benignly as Doris Luke takes off her shoes. Episode 3102 from February 1979 – Trina and Doris pamper Shughie following his bruising. Ted and Kathryn get close. Meg confesses to son Sandy that she isn’t Rosemary Hunter’s greatest fan.

The first revived episode was broadcast on 5 March 2001 with a glossy format, to the surprise of the wider media. The revived series was also broadcast in Ireland on RTÉ One and in New Zealand on TV One. The 2003 series was roundly criticised for moving too far away from the premise of the original 1964–88 series and the initial 2001–02 series, as well as for becoming "too camp".
