About this deal

In a word, yes. Quite simply, the semi-sweet flavour combination in a whiskey ginger is perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of bite. The oaky, spicy notes of Tennessee Whiskey shine through, mellowed by the sweet, bubbly fizz of the thirst-quenching ale. Add the lime as an essential finishing touch and you're all set! Enjoyed by whiskey lovers, and also great for those who aren't typical whiskey-drinkers, the whiskey ginger really does have it all. Reed's Extra Ginger Brew. The "extra ginger" in this Reed's varietal takes the mouth-burn up a notch, but an ample amount of sugar prevents this ale from becoming too caustic. If you're suffering from an upset stomach, there's no better drink for settling it and scaring away the bacteria.

Think of ginger as a natural flavour enhancer. While both ginger ale and ginger beer complement whiskey with their warming notes, they have very different flavour profiles. Ginger ale is an artificially-carbonated soda water and alcohol-free. It's more mellow, with a sweet, subtle taste. Ginger beer, on the contrary, has a strong, spicy flavour, and competes more with the flavour of the whiskey. While ginger ale has less carbonation, ginger beer has big bubbles. It's naturally fermented and brewed, but is classed as non-alcoholic as it contains less than 0.5% alcohol. Vernor's Ginger Ale. Through some Michigan natives, I became aware of Vernor's, which has somewhat of a cult following among Wolverine-state expats. This spirited soda deftly manages to combine a sweet creaminess with some subtle spice notes, making it the perfect not-so-hot ginger ale for those with less tolerance for heat. Here at Britvic, we have been creating great tasting drinks for pubs since 1938 and know how to deliver both old and new favourites with ease. Many ginger ale recipes include the sugar immediately, but to best extract the ginger flavor (gingerol), leave the sugar out in the first step. Strain out chopped ginger, and return the ginger-spiced water to the pot. Heat again, and add in the sugar, stirring until fully dissolved. Turn fire off, and allow ginger syrup to cool.

It's no secret that Britvic make great tasting mixers, from great quality ingredients. This year we have already been awarded for our great tasting Indian and Elderflower Tonic Waters, by the jury of the International Taste Institute, drawn from the world's best Chefs & Sommeliers. Add ice into a glass. Then add in about 1-2 tbsp of ginger syrup, a generous squeeze of lime juice, and top it off with soda water. Enjoy! Add water and chopped ginger into a small pot, and cover. Bring to a boil, then turn fire off, and let steep for 30-60 minutes (depending on how strong you want the ginger flavor).

Britvic mixers also ranked highly, with top 10 positions, in both Trending and Bestselling mixers by Drinks International, as certified by bartenders and staff from venues around the world. As a ginger who happens to love ginger, I am always on the lookout for libations that incorporate my favorite spice. And, in eternal pursuit of a higher tolerance for heat, I have also taken to trying spicier ginger ales and ginger beers. Here are five of my favorites:
