About this deal

In WWII, the infantry went to a shorter K98 rifle, which launched the 154-gr flat based bullet at 2,805 fps, and the 197.5 grain boattail at 2,494 fps.

In addition it was made from grey or dirty glass. I.e. the glass probably had clay impurities in it. However, measuring the exit pupil you might find that it is less than 7.5 mm even if the clear aperture is actually 60 mm. This would be because of internal restrictions such as the prism being too small. It might even have the old-fashioned squared off exit-pupils.Don't scoff at those old 16 x 50 binoculars as some had excellent resolution even though the coatings were poor. The Japanese ones were very good and probably still work when some of the modern Chinese cheapies have long hit the dust. Thomas, could you point us to a few examples? I know that TeleVue used to sell these, but they stopped some time ago. The hottest ammunition were the tungsten core armor piercing and explosive rounds for the ME-109 fighter plane. Barrels burned out in 2,000 rounds. However, I am put off straight away with the flimsiness of the eyepiece bridge. Either eyepiece moves in or out with only minor pressure, affecting the focal distance and the collimation.

There are two reasons for this. The first is a practical one. German-made binoculars were of outstanding quality. They Also, the bodies look like cast iron! and what is the mount thingy that is on the axle? Looks very heavy duty.Filming on the two newly-commissioned 8x60’ series will begin in Greater Manchester this autumn, and further details will be announced in due course. Tiles can be expensive so to help plan your project and reduce the costly mistakes of either purchasing too many tiles or even worse buying not enough, only for us to not have that shade we supplied you, we have provided an easy to use calculator. You say that you would be very much interested. How interested, in money terms? Of course, these would not have war eagles or swastikas,so would be of lesser appeal for the militaria collectors or the speculator/investor in rarities per se, but would be multicoated on all surfaces, which the WW II production was not.

Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, the Desert Fox, used a pair of 10x50 Dienstglas binoculars. His have the bakelite eyepiece caps missing. Did he remove x 60 is a useful combination of low magnification and aperture. At that price they might be worth a punt. I also had a pair of the Lidl Bresser 10 x 50's and they are not at all bad (compared to most of the dire cheapies in circulation). There is no way to give a short answer to anything about the history of the 8x57 flavors, nor the 8x60. I will give some short answers and can expound on points later. COTW mentions it, but doesn't have a drawing. I need complete case specs, and bullet/rifling preferably too. Anyone have a reference work listing this catridge (Howell, Donnelly maybe?)That is how I have bought many rifles: I did not care what caliber they were marked, as much as I cared for their handling and looks. i can find a load for anything like that, and a place with which to hunt it EPs: Plossls - 24mm, 16mm ES Maxvision 68°; 18mm, 12mm, 8mm BST Explorer 60°; Kellners - 25mm Celestron; 40mm & 9mm Japanese; MA - 25mm & 10mm Skywatcher; Skywatcher 2x Barlow. The number of handheld sets, on a capital ship, destroyer etc has to be quite high to cover all watches, allow for spares etc. I regularly chamber "Kropatschek" blanks and Handloads in my Guedes ( both for range shooting and Film use.) . No problems. Thought I would post this and that above to let people who may still want to take a punt on a pair before tomorrow (Wednesday, last day of the offer?) to have as much info as possible. The post above can be found at the link below if you want to read the whole thread...
