And we have to be honest about this, if you are a follower of Jesus & if you walk with God, there will be times when God feels so close you can reach out & touch him but there will also be times when God feels so far away you wonder where He could be. Jesus Christ told His followers these comforting words: "Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore do not fear; you are of more value than many sparrows." 7 If you truly turn to God, He will care for you as no one else does, and in a way that no one else can. God and Our Free Will The sinner’s guilt is seen in the sinner himself. “Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed [intertwined] fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings” (3:7). Suddenly they were self-conscious. Have you ever dreamed that you were in a public place and you weren’t properly clothed? It’s a relief to wake up and find out that you’re home in bed! Adam and Eve woke up and found out they weren’t dreaming. They were naked! For the first time, they had a sense that it wasn’t right. So they made an attempt to cover themselves with fig leaves. Look up Hebrews 9:27 and consider what a clear statement this is. Compare also Revelation 20:11-13. This is the God with whom we have to do, and “”it is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God”” (Hebrews 10:31). Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” 23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” 27 “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” 6 So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”’ (Hebrews 13:5-6, NIV). Ever wondered, “God, where are you?” This message helps us understand that the power of God is revealed in our difficult situations. It is the “in-between times” when faith grows, and God brings life to the dead. The serpent is cursed to crawl on its belly and eat dust. As Donald Barnhouse explains, “To eat dust is to know defeat, and that is God’s prophetic judgment upon the enemy.... There will be continuous aspiration, but never any attainment” ( Genesis: A Dev o tional Exposition [Zondervan], p. 22). The serpent was literally condemned to crawl on its belly, which I understand to mean that before the curse, it did not do so. (Some commentators say that it did, but that now God attaches new significance to that fact.) A. In this world, if you have studied engineering, people call you an engineer; and if you diagnose,...

True spiritual healing and spiritual victory over sin and death will happen when we are spiritually vulnerable and allow Jesus to access our hearts. We must allow the Holy Spirit access to our hearts and to uncover sin. You may not smell the spiritual deadness but it is real for those who do not know Jesus as Lord and savior. You may be afraid to roll away the stone and think it’s too late for Jesus to help. It’s not too late, give Jesus access to whatever is bothering you today. But, thankfully, God goes after us. And so we see here not only the sinner’s guilt, but also ... B. God’s gracious seeking. If you’re not a Christian, if you’re not a follower of Jesus I want to be honest with you & tell you… I don’t know where you turn with your questions. I don’t know where you go to find answers to those questions that don’t have easy answers.

But we all know that ups and downs are a part of everyone’s life. We like the ups and not the downs! When life is rosy, we are confident and boastful about whatever we do. But when things go bleak, we look forward to God with the expectation that He will come and bail us out of the difficult situation. But I hope that you don’t answer your own questions with fleeting facts … I hope that you will listen to and then embrace eternal truth for the answers to the really hard questions in life. There are only two creations –- the old and the new. Adam is the head of the old creation, but the Lord Jesus is the head of the new creation. All who belong to the old adamic creation are spiritually dead and doomed. When Jesus came it was to live the life that we have failed to live, to die the death that we deserved to die, and to rise again as the head of a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). “”Where are you?”” –- ““in Adam”” or “”in Christ”?”

Allow me to encourage you to talk with Jesus about your heart. Tell him how you feel. Be open and vulnerable before him. He is loving and faithful. He cares for you. Unlike us, God knows what will happen tomorrow, next week, next year, the next decade. He says, "I am God, and there is no one like me, declaring the end from the beginning." 1 He knows what will happen in the world. More importantly, He knows what will occur in your life and can be there for you, if you've chosen to include Him in your life. He tells us that He can be "our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble." 2 But we must make a sincere effort to seek Him. He says, "you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." 3 Where Is God in Difficult Times?

Perhaps after assuming that you have been ignored by the Creator of the universe, rather than interrogate Him, you decided it was time to demand of Him ~ to let Him know LOUDLY of your expectations. At times you may think, if only you would have been here Lord.God, if only you would have stepped in and stopped it. The truth is, we only see the situation and not the purpose or spiritual answer that God is working out on our behalf. We can have tunnel vision regarding our situation and life and we do not see the entire picture of what the Lord is wanting to do in our situation. We do not see all the twists and turns of the situation from beginning to end. This personal and pointed question is the first one recorded that God ever asked of man, and it is the first question He puts to individual men and women today. It simply means, ‘‘How do you stand before God and in the light of eternity? What is your spiritual condition?’’ The circumstances are clearly outlined in Genesis 3:1-19, and the fact that it is God Himself who asks the question makes it vitally important that we face up to it, and answer it honestly. This verse is the earliest promise of a Redeemer, and it comes as a surprise in this context of judgment. But its unexpectedness makes God’s grace shine all the brighter. God promises to put enmity between the serpent and the woman. Satan already hated Eve, but God graciously put it into Eve’s heart to hate Satan. Then God says that this enmity will be between Satan’s seed and the woman’s seed. This refers to the battle of the ages between the ungodly, who are children of their father, the devil (John 8:44), and the children of God. In this sense, “seed” is collective.Michael Hyatt, a successful business man & entrepreneur says, “That quite time you spend in the morning, reading God’s Word and praying, will calm you and prepare you for the day.” When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. 34 “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. 35 Jesus wept’ (John 11:33-35).

Is she saved? God’s Word is glorious and is the final answer. Some theologians say yes, others say no. Oh Lord, only You know the answer to that question. My job is to intercede on her behalf and trust You, Father God. We need to give Jesus access to the dead areas of our hearts, our relationships and life’s dreams. Let Jesus speak life to those spiritually dead areas of your heart and life. Allow the Holy Spirit to call out those areas that you may not even be aware of; the joy and happiness that you once had that may have died can be resurrected. The hurt, pain and suffering caused by sin can be healed in Jesus’ name. As long as Mom has breath, I’ll pray to my Lord God in Heaven whom I love and worship. Lord, hold her in Your mighty, healing hands. The power of God brings life to the dead. Call out to Jesus in faith. Open your heart, remove the stone and allow resurrection hope. Allow Jesus, the resurrected savior, to speak life and faith where deadness, hopelessness, sorrow, and unforgiveness, resides. Jesus reminds Martha, and us today, that faith is the key to resurrection hope. Faith to remove the stone. It is only by faith that we will see and experience the glory of God and forgiveness of sin. The miracle of Lazarus’ healing is only by the power and presence of Jesus. I’m torn Lord. I know she knows You. Scripture is so deeply embedded in her heart, it springs forth from her when I begin a verse. Oh glory – Your word resides deep within her, Lord! When the Lord finds Adam, Adam admits his fear. But notice what he says (3:10): “I was afraid because I was naked.” Not, “because I sinned,” but, “because I was naked.” He had been naked every other time the Lord had walked with him in the garden. The problem wasn’t his nakedness, but his sin. But the real problem was, and still is, it is a fearful thing to be exposed as a guilty sinner in the presence of God. And so instead of coming to God, who can deal with our sin, we run, foolishly thinking that we can hide from His omnipresent gaze. When Adam sinned, he became lost with reference to God. All Adam’s descendents are born in that condition: lost. Before you can be reconciled to God, you’ve got to answer for yourself the question God asked Adam: Where are you? The answer is, “God, I’m lost.” Before God can save you, you’ve got to admit to Him that you are lost.
