About this deal

The Oral-B Pro 2 2500 is overall a very good electric toothbrush which provides amazing value for money. This can lead to dental plaque festering on your teeth, ultimately leading to gum disease and tooth decay. The image below is a comparison chart that shows the main models available from Oral-B today, along with the features and functions each offer. Either way it is most certainly an improvement over the nickel metal hydride battery in the Oral-B Pro 2000.

You put your smartphone in before brushing, stand in front of it and the app, camera, and brush work together to give you this data. If you want the latest in Oral-B technology then I would recommend looking at the Oral-B Genius 9000. Both have pressure sensors built-in, but the 9000 has an LED smart ring that goes all around the neck of the brush. I don’t think the gloss plastics of the Pro 2 are that appealing when you compare them to the matt finish of Sonicare brushes.Whilst both brushes have Bluetooth connectivity and are considered ‘smart’ as they connect to a smartphone, the Genius has something known as enhanced tracking.

The Oral-B Pro 2000, 3000 and 2500 all will last on average 28 minutes which is a weeks worth of usage cleaning twice a day for two minutes. All the products I recommend are because they are helpful and I have experience using them, not because of the small commissions I receive. I’ve bought this model and have since noticed toothpaste in liquid form has made its way into the section at the top of the brush handle where the metal prong comes out and connects to the brush head. There are 4 sections in total and you need to brush the inner, outer, and biting surfaces of the teeth during this time. If you do end up getting the Oral-B Pro 2 2500W, I would recommend purchasing some CrossAction brush heads separately. Both aim to give feedback as if a dentist was monitoring your clean, but the 9000 just gives the feedback in a more interactive and instant way. It has the two essential features that I always look for in an electric toothbrush, a two minute timer and visible pressure sensor. Given that the Genius 9000 is the more expensive of the two the Smart 5 actually has the better battery life. You get the standard features like the 2 minute timer, 30 second pacer, rechargeable battery and fading indicator bristles on the brush head.
