When the Smallfry amiibo is scanned in the amiibo box, instead of talking to the player like most amiibo, an unknown narrator helps communicate with the Smallfry. Like Hyrule Warriors, amiibo from the Splatoon franchise can be scanned in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild once a day to earn items, such as fish, flowers, and more. At Nintendo Live 2019 in Kyoto, an updated "Haicalive" concert was held on two consecutive days, with the first being 13 October 2019. Off the Hook's casual outfits were given a new color scheme exclusive to these performances, and songs from their previous concert were added to the setlist. If the player scans either of the Squid Sisters amiibo while in Inkopolis Plaza during Photo Mode, both of them will disappear from their seats inside the studio and the character that was scanned will spawn right next to the player. In Version 1.1.0 of Splatoon 3, the Octoling Boy had yellow ink on his Octobrush rather than reddish-pink (reddish-pink being the color of ink used everywhere else on the amiibo).
In some games, you can build up your amiibo’s abilities as you play, allowing you to create an amiibo character just for you! If the Octo Expansion outfits are selected, Pearl and Marina have poses themed after their roles in the story, such as Marina posing with her laptop that was seen in the fight against Commander Tartar and the NILS Statue, or Pearl posing with the microphone she used prior to the same fight, when she rapped with Cap'n Cuttlefish. Some software can read and write specific data to and from amiibo, so your amiibo’s abilities can change as you play. In Japan, Pearl's fans are known as Himeito (ヒメイト), a portmanteau of Pearl's name, "Hime", and the English word "mate". The English equivalent to this name may be "Pearl Scout", as seen on the Pearl-Scout Lace-Ups. "Pearl Scout" is a reference to the Girl Scouts. amiibo have similar functionality in Splatoon 3 as they do in Splatoon 2, giving mostly the same gear. However, no songs are given for Squid Beatz due to the minigame's removal. amiibo once again give rewards on a ten-victory system; however, they start with shoes first instead of headgear like in Splatoon 2. Using an amiibo with data from Splatoon 2 causes it to recognize the player and immediately give all of its rewards, though the previous data must be deleted for it to be able to befriend the player. The player can scan in an amiibo to take pictures with them around the hub world just like in Splatoon 2. This time, however, with a dedicated Photo Mode in Splatoon 3, the player can simply open up the Photo Mode anywhere in Splatsville or Inkopolis Plaza, and scan the amiibo, as opposed to going up to the amiibo box every time they want to take a picture. amiibo can also be used to save currently equipped gear, player settings, camera options, and registered "Freshest Fits", which can then be reloaded by scanning the amiibo in the gear menu.

Kirby: Planet Robobot includes an amiibo feature that grants Kirby a copy ability depending on the character. The Inkling Boy, Girl, and Squid all grant access to the Poison ability for Kirby. If the player finishes the level while wearing a costume based on playable Inklings, the level completion jingle changes to Hero Mode - Onward! jingle from Octo Valley, while a jingle based on City of Color that is played when the winner of a Splatfest is announced in Splatoon is used for Squid Sister costumes. Falling into a pit when wearing any Splatoon costume plays the Hero Mode - SPLAT! jingle from Octo Valley in place of the standard Super Mario Bros. life lost jingle. Pearl" is derived from the valuable hard, glistening mineral of the same name formed inside the shells of molluscs.When taking photos with Pearl and Marina, the player can choose if they will be dressed in their normal or Octo Expansion outfits. If the amiibo were used during a Splatfest, the player was able to take a photo on-stage with Off the Hook. Tentakuru!!).
On 10 February 2018, Off the Hook had their real-life debut in a concert called " Haicalive", held at Tokaigi 2018. [3] They performed all of their songs except for "Fest Zest". New lyrics were also featured for most of their songs. They also collaborated with the Squid Sisters for the final song, "Now or Never!". Being big fans of Splatoon 2 and Off The Hook, my little sister and I were very excited for the release of these amiibo. After receiving them upon release, we weren't at all disappointed! These amiibo, as the majority of those we own, are well-painted and detailed, especially for their price. Both Marina and Pearl are captured incredibly well, looking identical to their in-game appearances. Displayed on the shelf, they look excellent, especially next to Callie and Marie. In Splatoon 2, while the Inkling Boy and Inkling Boy 2 amiibo share the same dialogue and features, the game differentiates between them. The rewards given by the original Inkling Boy amiibo are as follows:In Splatoon 3, the rewards given by the Pearl and Marina amiibo are almost identical, minus the themes, while the Pearlescent Crown has been split into the Pearlescent Crown S and Pearlescent Crown L.
Additionally, like the rest of the Splatoon amiibo series, these offer in-game functionality. After leveling up in Splatoon 2 and tapping in the amiibo, you will receive one piece of gear in an exclusive three-piece series for each amiibo. This gear resembles Marina and Pearl’s outfits in the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion DLC: Pearl’s crown, sweatshirt and platform heels, and Marina’s headphones, crop top and sneakers. A software update may be required to use amiibo functionality in amiibo compatible games. A system update may also be required to use amiibo functionality. Pearl and Callie have a pink color scheme and Marie has a green color scheme and Marina's color scheme is teal (a combination of blue and green).The Squid Sisters amiibo allow the user to view concerts in the plaza, similar to a Splatfest. The three reskinned amiibo have the same behavior as their original counterparts. The challenge trees are shared between the original and reskinned amiibo.
