Formula milk isn’t difficult to prepare, as long as you have a decent kettle to hand. Here are our four top tips:

Growing-up and toddler milks are marketed as an alternative to whole cows' milk for toddlers and children over 1 year old. There's no evidence to suggest that these products provide extra nutritional benefits for young children. Lactose intolerance is rare in babies. Symptoms include diarrhoea, abdominal pain, wind and bloating. This formula is suitable for babies who are lactose intolerant. This means they cannot absorb lactose, which is a sugar that's naturally in milk and dairy products. Moreover, we bought "baby stomach ease organic tea" which really help him with tummy pain after food (only 2 ml with syringe calm his pain very fast).

Make up each feed as required. For hygiene reasons, do not store made up feeds, discard unfinished feeds as soon as possible, always within two hours. All the brands have a follow-on formula though, and these are usually labelled as stage 2. If you still decide to use it, your child would need to be six months or older (it's not suitable from birth).
