Riley also wasn’t doing it for me. Her burying her head in the sand and ruining Aidan's career with zero attempts to rectify anything just wasn’t cool. I know the rationale used but I’m sure there was something she could have done. I mean even reaching out and explaining why she couldn’t go public would have been a start. I think dark romances with stalkers may be a new favorite trope of mine to read... and I'm not sure what that says about me, but let's move on.

Jonas Wolfe might have made my list of my favorite book boyfriends. Because oh my god he is literally perfect. This British, possessive, dirty-talking murderer who cares for nothing was honestly such a sweetheart for Lenny only. Everything he did–the shopping sprees, the painting–stole my heart with absolutely no hope of return. Lenny Primrose is a puppet. A temptress sent to make my life bloody miserable. Adored by the public and used for her father’s benefit. Every man wants her, and every woman wants to be her. She’s good for my reputation. That’s the only reason I agree to the little devil’s proposal. I’m game. Willing to play pretend to get what I want. Until what I want is her. Now, there are no rules. I’ll wage a war against the world just to keep her. Even the deadliest men have their vices, and she happens to be mine. **Oaths and Omissions is the third interconnected standalone in the Monsters and Muses series, and is a dark contemporary romance. It is NOT fantasy or a retelling. Oaths and Omissions by Sav R. Miller – eBook Details There is an entire chapter of her getting a tattoo and for several more chapters I have no idea what it was. That seemed frustrating, especially when characters kept saying ‘the tattoo.’ at first i couldn’t take his name seriously bc of the jonas brothers and all but because i am so brave i got past it in the end.and now i want himAiden and Riley have such a hot and toxic relationship. A lot of the drama centered around miscommunication and Aiden wanting his revenge. There was a lot of sex and smut and I wish there a little bit of more time for finding an emotional balance. There definitely was scenes toward the end, but not enough to were I feel like they are that strong of a point. Their relationship was a little bit of a slow burn. But I needed more of after the burning settled and a steadier path. So... this might have just dragged me out of my book slump. Transparently, I was very skeptical of this book because I really did not like the first book in this series, Promises and Pomegranates, at all. The reason why I read this book anyway was because of the 1) fake relationship trope and 2) Sav R Miller's writing is literally so good that I'm constantly in awe of it. I have genuinely not enjoyed writing the way I have enjoyed hers in a very long time. This book has me EMOTIONAL, okay? I spent the first 25% of the book grinning like a fool, the next 50% nervous and just completely absorbed in the tension between Riley and Aiden, and the last 25% crying. I’ve felt all of the emotions and I’m drained. Someone bring me chocolate. this is why i hate booktok authors, they always wanna add stupid tropes so that that one scene is featured in a video. this book had so much potential. actual chemistry but wtf?? WHERE WAS THE DARKNESS?

I also wouldn't call this a DARK romance. The little stalking could be considered dark-ish, but the rest felt like a typical spicy contemporary novel. I didn't mind, but it's good to know for setting your expectations straight.I want to start with Riley - the invisible girl. The one ignored. The one that thought, "You tiptoe around people just to avoid upsetting them, because it's easier than admitting to yet another of your shortcomings."
