About this deal

Edited to add: I wore this to work today and a woman approached me and asked if I was wearing Coco mademoiselle by Chanel. I told her what I was wearing and she said to her it smelled like a slightly sweeter version of Coco Mademoiselle which is her favorite fragrance. She then wrote down the name. Weird, I didn't think this at all when I smelled it, but I guess I can see how some people could interpret it this way. Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.

And "First" would probably not be a perfume that I would wear every day, because I like to have perfumes that reflect the mood that I'm in - or the activities that I'm doing that day. First is a truly enchanting floral scent. I can see why two previous reviewers chose it as their wedding day fragrance - it really is something special. Lets face it, VCA First was a bit retro in 1976. This kind of luxury had been seen before in every decade of the 20th century starting with Chanel no 5, Arpege, Joy, Madame Rochas, Caleche and Chamade. The torch was passed to First who brought it to glorious heights. Nothing has came close to this opulence, other than Boucheron a decade later. A very cozy soft, sweet but not sugary scent. It is approachable and smells comforting but not elegant. It’s a day scent and a cozy night at home scent, but not a night out. It’s a skin scent for me about an hour after spraying which is perfect for me as a teacher with an hour long commute. I like to smell comforting and approachable when a student comes right next to me, but don’t want to bother anyone who has fragrance sensitivities with an overbearing fragrance. This one fits the bill. When snuggling with my children at bedtime they comment about how good I smell, but I don’t hear anything about how I smell from anyone that’s not very close to me. This is the perfect silliage for a shy girl like myself.

Miscellaneous

But recently I begin to like VC&A First, for I start to think that when aldehydes and civet were combined together, it really sends out a sexy (though elegant and graceful at the same time) feminine message. This is possibly the smell of classic tea, perhaps that is why it exudes such a sense of class and distinction. This is extremely STRONG, the first 30 minutes of wear. I've been wearing lighter fragrances this past couple of years, so this is definitely a jolt.

In 1966, Van Cleef & Arpels was charged with the task of making the crown of Empress Farah Pahlavi for her upcoming coronation in 1967. A team was sent to Iran to choose the major gems to use for the crown. After 11 months of work, [10] the company presented the empress with a crown made of emerald velvet set with 36 emeralds, 36 rubies, 105 pearls and 1,469 diamonds. [11] Yes it is aldehydic, so if you don't like aldeydes this might not be for you. But to me they are not overpowering, but just part of the beautifully-balanced composition. After approx. half an hour, it starts developing a bit - gets a bit deeper and richer. I know patchouli is not listed, but I def. get some patchouli like scent.. The vanilla and the frangipani really steps up and make their fabulous entrée . Alfred and Esther’s daughter, Renée (born Rachel) Puissant, assumed the company’s artistic direction in 1926. Puissant worked closely with draftsman René Sim Lacaze for the next twenty years. [8] Van Cleef & Arpels were the first French jewelers to open boutiques in Japan and China.

However, I was wearing this in my early 30's and received a lot of compliments on it then, but primarily wore it for more formal occasions - it was never an every day perfume for me.

I'm always tempted to buy First for myself, but I can't. This is how my mother smells like. So I enjoy samples that a very astute sales lady gave me. Mulier, Thomas; Campbell, Keith (13 September 2009). "Hyperinflation Worries? Buy My Jewelry, Richemont's Rupert Says". Bloomberg News. Archived from the original on 6 November 2014 . Retrieved 2014-08-25. The heart is a heady bouquet of pretty roses, orchids, tuberose, hyacinth, ylang ylang, jasmine and carnation. Each floral note is discernable to my nose. The big rose is quite obvious but she is gracefully accompanied by the equally showy jasmine and carnation. The 3 big floral notes in any woman's perfume: rose, jasmine and carnation. These are romantic florals. It makes me think of a considerate lover's gift of flowers to his sweetheart. Or a husband to his wife. Sure they are mature florals but you know what? They do not come off as old lady or Church lady. These are youthful sweet feminine florals for the romantic girl. A princess who loves flowers. I was briefly reminded of such florals beauties as Beautiful by Estee Lauder only that was more green floral whereas this is sweet and subtle, powdery, a tad like Chanel No 5 which it is inevitably compared to and strangely sometimes like Chloe Narcisse. This is a glorious floral queen. This has an exclusive type aura about it, it is more refined than some of the other huge commercial successes that we can name by name, just by smelling the notes of the perfume. In Issue 116 of New X-Men (2001 series), the character Emma Frost, who has recently gained the power to turn into organic diamond, tells a taxi, "the Van Cleef and Arpels store on Fifth at Fifty-Seventh, driver. I intend to have myself valued." The aldehydes are sparkling diamonds. The citrus notes of mandarin orange and bergamot orange are fresh and match up with the aldehydes, providing this scent with a sort of golden-yellow light. This fragrance is always shining! Not at all like Lady Million by Rabane which attempts to evoke gold. This is truly liquid gold. The scent has fruit notes early into it's performance with a peach scent (not a heavy peach) a currant or cassis, a raspberry but most of all citrus. Sweet and fresh upon that first spritz. Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number). The reason I remember this so well is, that when I went to visit my grandparents for the holidays I was usually dropped off at my granny's workplace, a bank. Oftentimes this was about one hour before she had finished work and so I sat beside her and played some games. In 2010/2011, the company's estimated sales were €450 million in total sales and €45 million in watches. [21]

A young woman that prefers soft, clean florals would definitely enjoy this fragrance. Van Cleef & Arpels most likely intended for this flanker to be sweeter than most fragrances from their collection so that it would appeal to the younger consumers. It is a shame though that So First has been relegated to the bargain shelves so soon after its release. Perhaps it did not sell as well as they had hoped. And what I think the most interesting part is, since aldehydes and civet are two notes that last much longer, if you apply other fragrances, the new scent will combine with aldehydes and civet notes from VC&A First. I've never worn this myself, but it's been the signature of my grandmother for as long as I can remember. The first time I tried this, I couldn't get past the opening notes, and thought I hated it. The opening is very fruity on me, and I don't wear fruity fragrances well. It doesn't smell like Parfum d'Hermes at all, but it reminds me of that perfume in the way that the loud top notes seem out of sync with the rest of it, which is rather subdued. This has a well formulated alto chord which becomes more alluring as this blends with the chemistry of the skin and the final phase of wear turns into a delicious broth -- an intoxicatingly beautiful scent that very few other perfumes arrive at. The fragrance draws you in with aldehydes, and to quote my 2nd husband when I used to wear this and when he was alive, "smells like a beautiful woman out of the shower". The aldehydes have an incandescent brilliance, not like glittery cheap sequins, but the natural light emitting from diamond jewelry or precious jewels. I love a great many vintage formulas that have civet but I always imagined it to be something best represented in skanky thoroughly animalic scents. Another beautiful classic, a mix of flowers and musk; the kind of perfume that makes you feel very special and sophisticated, elegant lady. It is the perfume that many stars of Old Hollywood could have used with pride. Once you passed the aldehyde blast, I mostly get a cool jasmine balanced with a powdery iris and a metallic rose. There's some tuberose lingering but its creamy, sweet notes are against a metallic, and sharp carnation. It all dries down into a very well balanced chypre scent that contrast and evolve with the wearer skin warmth. It works beautifully on my dry skin, as most chypres do. Oakmoss is quite prominent at this stage but is masterly paired with a creamy, indulgent real sandalwood. A true gem often overlooked. It's another great creation of Jean-Claude Ellena, one of his best creations, if not the best. Perfume houses don't do perfumes that can match this.
