The pop-out flames and light up eyes are probably the best feature of the play set – it’s quite impressive, especially if you try it out when it’s getting dark. The annoyance comes from some of the features being hard for children to use (the older they get the less of an annoyance this becomes), the toy only coming with 2 character figures, and the top lookout part popping lose a lot. The boys absolutely love the series so when the opportunity came up to review The Lion Guard Rise of Scar Playset, I was keen to do it. It is meant to be a bungee jump perch where you attach a figure to the bungee jump line, hit the switch, and send them soaring in the air. The zip line stand, Kion, and Janja are a little bit heavier, so some potential damage could happen here.

As the boys were sharing this toy, it would have been handy to perhaps have another figure with it – however this is probably more of an issue of sharing than anything and doesn’t matter when they are playing with it on their own.

Disney Junior’s The Lion Guard, Kion, challenges Scar in the action-packed Rise of Scar Playset – which includes pop-out flames, snake attack, collapsing bridge, monkey launching tree trap, and lava pool trap! It has taken some abuse, and a couple of the pieces have broken off, and I think we lost the projectiles that get launched – but overall it has been a great toy that the kids still love! If you can find this toy for sale, we would still recommend purchasing it – and we have had a lot of fun with it over the years!Other features include a waterfall that will make noises and light up – and a removable zip line piece that can be connected to the lair and used as a zip line.
