About this deal

The new Triangle AIO TWIN speakers offer full flexibility as soon as they are integrated into the network, which can be done either via cable or the integrated WiFi module according to IEEE 802.11n. For the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned here that an external subwoofer can also be connected via a corresponding cinch output. Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. It works only in coordination with the primary cookie. Which is not to say that the Elaras don’t go loud. They do. Or that they sound small, ‘cos they don’t, especially when they’re used in a compact room. For the past couple of decades, the audio industry has been angsting about how to get young listeners interested in hi-fi. It’s not that teens and twentysomethings don’t love music; it’s that their musical lives revolve around smartphones, headphones, maybe a Bluetooth speaker. How can they be introduced to the joys of listening to real stereo from real hi-fi speakers?

As this is an active speaker set, the left speaker is equipped with 2 x 50w Class-D amplification. The right speaker is passive and is driven by the left via a supplied speaker cord. The two speakers have standard binding posts, so you should, in theory, be able to use any speaker wire, however, the manual recommends to use only the included wire. Triangle supplies a remote control but provides a volume knob on the rear of the right speaker. This knob also works as an input selector switch but one that must be pressed to move through the inputs. There is also a sub output which is full range, you’ll have to use the crossover on your sub to blend the output with your speakers. A 60-70 Hz cut off is recommended. There is also a volume knob on the rear of the speaker. The Elara is said to have a power output of 50-watts and a frequency response of 56-20,000 Hz measured at one metre +/-3dB.While the soundstage wasn’t especially deep, it was wide and open, convincingly evoking La Philharmonie de Paris, where this performance was recorded in November 2019. Dynamics scaled with impressive ease for a small, two-way, 50Wpc powered speaker. However, the loudest sections sounded slightly congested; and when I cranked up the volume, a little hardness crept in during loud passages. Otherwise, the little powered Triangles were beautifully transparent, conveying all the magic of this magical score. Ultimately, the Triangles are in good shape to satisfy anyone looking for a convenient, space-saving system solution that plays ball with almost any source. They're more interested in flagging the subtle, aching inflections of his delivery, and the textures and low-level dynamics of instruments, than the power behind them. Verdict

HOME THEATER

In conclusion, the Triangle LN01A speakers are a compelling option for anyone seeking a powerful and refined active HiFi system, with less boxes taking up space. The cliché insisting that the more things change, the more they stay the same, is usually a lazy and mostly inaccurate summation of life and the universe.

After imbibing some of nature’s finest herbs, it was always a chore to change LPs when the tonearm reached the end of a side. The LN01A’s 2-way configuration includes a 25mm fabric dome tweeter combined with a 13cm ‘concave style’ mid-woofer. Triangle’s design specifically strives to achieve the warm and detailed signature sound that listeners will recognise from other products across their ranges. No Vinyl Left BehindTesting the LN01A’s phono stage performance with a Project Debut Carbon the speakers maintain consistency and character. A bit of Bob Marley And The Wailers’ ‘Turn Your Lights Down Low’, showcases their ability to handle sustained, deep beats and deliver rich low frequencies. The vocal harmonies and melodies remain clear and well-defined. Using the phono stage, the presentation loses some solidity and openness but remains engaging and detailed enough to enjoy, and opens up a realm of choices in the turntable market to boot.

The Titus also delivered more treble detail and dug deeper in the bass. What both Elara and Titus do have in common is an immediacy and ability to time, that’s complimentary to the music played through them.

Lively and practical

They’d be a cinch to transport. And the features on offer such as an inbuilt phono stage and Bluetooth connectivity, it’s light years ahead of those on my Garrard/Armstrong/Goodman’s audio system. As my wife remarked, these little speakers have plenty of soul saying: “They appeal to the heart and not the head.’’
