About this deal

The Groundhog Day storyline gives a real opportunity for the protagonist to grow and to have a real awakening, not make the same mistakes over and over again. Devil's Night" is the title of the fourth episode of American Horror Story: Hotel, which is the fifth season of the series. It allowed the ghosts of former serial killers like Aileen Wuornos, Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, and Richard Ramirez to return to the Hotel Cortez for a mischievous night. The problem is that in the Endlands one story begs the telling of another and another,” admits John Pentecost to his 10-year-old son Adam, “and in all of them the devil plays his part.” The obliquity of this statement, perhaps our earliest indication of John’s self-deception, will be revealed as things develop. He is telling Adam the devil’s own story, while Andrew Michael Hurley is telling John Pentecost’s. They are inextricably entwined.

Detroit hip-hop group D12's 2001 debut album is titled Devil's Night which also features a song with the same title. For years, we’ve been trading insults, bone-deep thrusts of verbal swords that sever bits of the soul." Our heroine is feisty, but not enough for the amount she has gone through. I would have liked to see more revenge/hate from her. Oh!...By the way that last bit with the butterfly’s in the bedroom,...Yeah...I think my neighbours heard me groan at that scene.I found the characters interesting but I never really learn much about any of them except for Karma. But everyone was a combination of good and bad. There was only one character that wasn't really redeemable. I would even define it as a Fantasy or kind of Sci-Fi because of the cosmic loop, there's also bullying, strong h, a sea of surprising twists, a little dark (It was lighter for me😂) and a lot more but I'll stop because I've dug enough😂 She's a high school student who is bullied by the Knight crew who are a group of friends; Calix, Barron, Raz and Sonia. They bully other kids too, but seem to focus a lot of attention on Karma. Todos los personajes son horribles, se da el mensaje que el amor lo cura todo, muchos temas están muy mal tratados como el suicidio, se lo toma sin importancia al igual que el bullyng. Comencé este libro ya que tenía ganas de leer algo relacionado con halloween, no sabía de qué trataba el libro y sinceramente no lo pude terminar.

Would I read the author again... probably not, but that's just me. It wasn't really a romance imho. Well then Karma really did live that day forever, but she didn't choose it, and certainly not on Devil's Day. I enjoyed it so much that I forced myself to stop in the middle of reading just to try the audio version which was even more amazing than the reading 😍 Karma relives Devil's day over and over for no apparent reason, but it was entertaining. Especially as she let go of her fear and was able to be herself with everyone. Chafets, Ze'ev. (1990). Devil's Night and Other True Tales of Detroit. New York: Random House. ISBN 0-394-58525-9.In the 1997 film Grosse Pointe Blank, Debbie ( Minnie Driver) refers to the reason why she is living with her father is because her apartment was burned on Devil's Night. I have no idea how I managed to last till the end, of course I've read between line as well, but this was full of crap. I felt like the heroine grew over the course of the book which is one of the main things that I want of happen in a book. The author fulfilled that brief well here. Devils’ Day Party explores a variety of themes and messages, including the power struggles, alpha male angst, the search for identity, and the dangers of blind obedience.

The characters in the story are simple but relatable and this is such an amazing book. Made readers’ cry, laugh, happy and excited readers got the chills so many times toward the end of this book. It completely blew reader’s mind. It managed to surpass high expectations of the reader. The world-building is so fully fleshed out and amazing that it’s almost as if author traveled to such a place, escaped from it, and then just wrote it all down. Stunich’s writing style is gripping and intense, using elements of time travel to create a sort of “Groundhog Day” storyline. I mean, to him it didn’t happen, not really. But every now and again, one of the boys brings up something that happened on a day they’re not supposed to remember. Yet, they do. They all do, in some way or another. And knowing that I wasn’t alone during that time period makes things that much easier. Devil's Night made its way to Detroit in the 1930s and 1940s. [2] Traditionally, city youths engaged in a night of mischievous or petty criminal behavior, usually consisting of minor pranks or acts of mild vandalism (such as egging, soaping or waxing windows and doors, leaving rotten vegetables or flaming bags of canine feces on stoops, or toilet papering trees and shrubs) which caused little or no property damage. By the 1970s, the concept of Devil's Night as a phenomenon of a night of mischief and vandalism had spread, in a limited way, to cities around the state of Michigan, around the Midwest, and, in some instances, a few other cities around the country. Multiple underground rappers came together every year from 2003–2009 to make Halloween-themed albums called " Devilz Nite".I particularly liked Barron and his quiet disposition, always watching and waiting for his moment whilst keeping up his hot and cold nature. Collecting memories of Karma throughout each time loop without being able to explain it but not really wanting too. His acceptance that something mysterious was at work but only caring about what he could express through his artwork of Karma was all he needed to convince him that she was something he treasured and wanted. It was endearing and whilst it didn’t make sense, was a lovely aspect of the story I really liked. I shiver as Raz runs both hands over my shoulders and gives them a squeeze. Just the touch of him excites me in ways I never could’ve imagined. I used to be … not afraid of him, because that isn’t the right word. But wary. Nervous. He was an enemy, not a friend.

Some do it BADLY, when it just becomes chapter, after chapter of, meet a guy, talking for bit, then full on, down and dirty Screwing in GRAPHIC detail. Do they know we’re taking you to the Crescent?” Calix asks, referring to the nearby hotel where we spent one of the most magical evenings of my life together. He told me, in French mind you, that he’d belong to me. Always. He said that part, too, the always bit. My cheeks flush, but I flip my purple hair and pretend like I don’t remember that night either. There are a couple epilogues though that are meant to reassure the reader that the HEA is workable. I didn’t know what to anticipate when I saw the groundhog day plot of this book, no one wants to read the same thing over and over again, but I was intrigued and became surprised by how much I was drawn into the story. Karma having to live the same day all over again, but each time she tries a new approach to see where her story would take her, it almost always ends up with someone dead. Even when she starts using the time loop and previous knowledge to her advantage to try and get to know those around her and to get all the boys to confess their true feelings to her, it was surprising and kept the pace interesting, it was only when it twisted into this reverse harem erotic situation that I kind of lost the interest. That being said, I don’t know how she was supposed to choose between the boys after everything she had been through with them through various timelines anyway, so I can understand the premise. It just wasn’t for me. As I mentioned in the first paragraph, I absolutely disliked the characters, except maybe April, and she doesn't even play the main role here. I know Karma had lessons to learn, and the devil's trio were all just jealous and in love with her, but their actions, their hurt was hurting me and my eyes. I do like enemies to lovers, I do like the bully trope, but this? They were not for each other. A gang of rotten kids - that's how I felt most of the time anyway.I did enjoy the character build up through out the Devils’ Day loop and how Karma began to come out of her shell from a self-involved miserable girl being tired of her life and the constant bullying, to standing up for herself and accepting that life is just too short to be worried about trivial things. I liked how she sometimes took a day off to just be with her family and avoid the inevitable repeat of the day and the guys who made her life complicated. The fact that she could still get lost in her paintings surrounded by her loving family whilst knowing it was all going to be forgotten when she fell to sleep, just helped her become a stronger person who just wanted to live in the moment and accept that her life isn’t as bad as she once thought. You’d do that?” Raz asks as Calix rolls his eyes and sighs dramatically. He pretends to hate Raz, but I saw the two of them kiss. I mean, they were doing it for my benefit, but neither of them looked entirely put-out by the act. “Go to the school party? You hate school parties.”
