About this deal

Before the end of the World-That-Was, Grimnir sang his death-song and went to the Northlands to close the gates that brought forth Chaos into reality. Grimnir's deeds were beyond count and he became lost in the Realm of Chaos for time unknown. He didn't achieve his objective, but due to his fiery determination and strength he was neither slain nor driven mad in the attempt. [5] Nor is this role a purely ceremonial or advisory one. It is incumbent upon the Lord Grimnyr to walk the battlefield as the eyes and ears and voice of the Votann, dispensing wisdom to friends and allies, even as they unleash the wrath of the glowering Ancestors upon the enemies of their Kindred. Gylfaginning, Skáldskaparmál, Hákonarmál (14), Úlfr Uggason's Húsdrápa (8), Hávamál (160), Grímnismál (54), Sigrdrífumál (13), Óðins nǫfn (2, 3, 5), Vǫluspá (62) Adamnan-Na-Brionha - Amex - Kourdanrin - Liadriel - Meneloth - Morai-Heg - Salthite - Sarriel - Torothal

Odin and his wife, Frigg, were sitting in Hlidskjalf, looking out on the worlds. They turned their eyes towards King Geirröth, who was reigning in the stead of his late father, King Hrauthung. Geirröth and his older brother Agnarr had been raised by Odin and Frigg, respectively. The god and goddess had disguised themselves as a peasant and his wife, and had taught the children wisdom. Geirröth returned to his father's kingdom where he became king upon his father's death, while Agnarr dwelt with a giantess in a cave. Interface Echoes - The Grimnyr draws empyrically-archived Votannic wisdom from within ward-tech augmetic neural buffers implanted within their own minds, and uses it to inform their comrades' battle plans.

Multiplier: Perpetuity Duration: 6 turns. ( Boost to specs based on God of War ATK and charge bar gain are boosted (Can't be removed) By comparison, though, more than one Votann has degenerated in recent centuries until they have become little more than Fanes themselves. To witness such a decline is a terrible tragedy to the Kin. Alliances such as the Kapellan League or the disintegrating Balor-Attal Conglomerate endured long Terran years of mourning after their Ancestor Cores suffered this fate. Each time an enemy unit destroys a VOTANN unit from your army, that enemy unit gains 1 Judgement token. These Living Ancestors are the closest you’ll usually find to priests amongst the largely secular Leagues, and use barrier tech to help them harness the raw power of the immaterium in battle – such as the two mechanical CORVs that hover alongside them.* Cthonian Beserk Mole Grenade Launcher This and the following stanza are quoted by Snorri. They seem to have come from a different source from the others of this poem; Edzardi suggests an older version of the Vafthruthnismol. This stanza is closely parallel to Vafthruthnismol, 21, which see, as also Voluspo, 3. Snorri, following this account, has a few details to add. The stones were made out of Ymir's teeth and such of his bones as were broken. Mithgarth was a mountain-wall made out of Ymir's eyebrows, and set around the earth because of the enmity of the giants.]Ancestral Power (Only usable by a Lord Grimnyr) - This old and wisened soul has communed with the Votann for countless Terran years. They have gleaned many incredible secrets and interpreted great truths in their time, and have immense skill in wielding the psycho-activated barrier technologies that are their birthright. As such, a Lord Grimnyr can manifest any of their Skeinwrought Discipline powers over a much wider range than less experienced Grimnyr.

Skoll and Hati: the wolves that devour respectively the sun and moon. The latter is the son of Hrothvitnir ("The Mighty Wolf," i. e. Fenrir); cf. Voluspo, 40, and Vafthruthnismol, 46-47, in which Fenrir appears as the thief. Ironwood: a conjectural emendation of an obscure phrase; cf. Voluspo, 40. This year’s Warhammer Day miniature is an Einhyr Champion, representing the way decades old Warhammer lore has been reinterpreted by this brand new range of miniatures. A fitting champion for a classic range reborn. I will tell you my names: I am Grim; Lam Gangleri; I am Raider and the Helmeted One, I am the Pleasant One and the Third; I am Thud and Ud; I am Death Blinder and the High One; I am Sad and Svipall and Sangetall; I am Glad of War and Spear Thruster; I am One-eyed, Flame-eyed, Worker of Evil; I am Fjolnir and Grimnir, the Hooded One, I am Glapsvid and Fjolsvid; I am Deep Hood and I am Long Beard; I am Sigfod and Hnikud; I am Allfather; I am Atrid and the Cargo God. I have never been called by one name alone since I first showed myself in Midgard. A Grimnyr, also known as a Living Ancestor, is a Kin of the Leagues of Votann who has been cloned with a psychoactive cloneskein that allows them to use limited psychic powers and draw on the energies of the Immaterium with the aid of the psychic technology known as barrier-tech. The Grimnyr also serve as the primary interlocutors with the Votann machine intelligences that guide the Leagues of Votann and to which their Ancestors' cerebral data is uploaded. The sixth is Thryrnheim, the place of uproar set in the mountains. That’s where the great giant Thiazi lived. Now it’s owned by his daughter, fair Skadi — she was Njord’s bride. The seventh is Breidablik, Broad Splendour: Balder has set up his hall there in beautiful country, blessed and untainted by any evil.Dark Gods ( Great Horned Rat • Khorne • Nurgle • Slaanesh • Tzeentch) • Devourer of Existence • Ever-Raging Flame • Great Gatherer • Hashut • Necoho • Newborn ( Dexcessa • Synessa) The brother of Grungni, the Ancestor God of smiths, miners and artisans, and joint husband with his brother of Valaya, the Ancestor Goddess of home and the hearth, Grimnir is the patron of Dwarf warriors, and of Slayers in particular. During their ancient migration, Grimnir protected the Dwarfs from enemies such as Giants, Dragons, and Trolls. The coming of Chaos brought forth new dangers; wielding two mighty axes forged by Grungni, Grimnir led the Dwarfs against these abominations. After learning about the warp gate through which the forces of Chaos were entering the mortal world, Grimnir decided to find the ruptured gate and close it with his own hands, even against the advice of Grungni and Valaya. He shaved his head, except for a crest that he dyed orange and spiked with animal fat, and tattooed his body with elaborate patterns that incorporated his personal rune. Dishonoured Dwarfs entering the Slayer cult follow the same ritual today. [1a] Eikthyrnir ("The Oak-Thorned," i.e., with antlers, "thorns," like an oak): this animal presumably represents the clouds. The first line, like that of stanza 25, is too long in the original. Lærath: cf. stanza 25, note. Hvergelmir: according to Snorri, this spring, "the Cauldron-Roaring," was in the midst of Niflheim, the world of darkness and the dead, beneath the third root of the ash Yggdrasil. Snorri gives a list of the rivers flowing thence nearly identical with the one in the poem.]
