There are many different mosquito repellents available when it comes to choosing the best one. Pyramid hail Trek Ultra as one of the most advanced repellents on the market, offering all-day, tropical strength protection, while using a low concentration of DEET. It has a lovely scent to it and is gentle enough to be used on sensitive skin and other skin conditions such as eczema. Fitted with a pump spray, it’s easy to use and each pump gives a good amount to work around the body without overdoing it. Each formula works great in keeping biting insects at bay but the smell can be quite strong for some people although it fades after a while. It stays on pretty well and is still quite effective even after a bit of perspiration. With its natural ingredients, this spray unfortunately doesn’t keep well and lose its effectiveness if it’s been open for more than 6 months. However, the handy travel 75ml size will last a single traveller about 2 weeks on a daily usage depending on your body size which isn’t too bad for the price.

Ben’s is also available in a spray bottle. Ben’s ‘Max’ spray contains a hefty hit of DEET (50% in Europe, the highest percentage allowed under EU law, but up to 98% in the US), which means that despite its dinky size, you don’t need to spray too liberally to keep mosquitoes and other insects at bay. Avoid using the strong spray on delicate skin – spray it in your hands first and avoid your eyes and mouth if you’re applying to your face.

Picaridine is one of the safer chemicals used in mosquito repellents as it has a low toxic level making it less likely to cause irritation. I've had some really bad experiences with mosquito bites over the years, almost ruining holidays. I've spent a fortune trying to protect myself but nothing ever works like this product.
