I was waiting patiently for this title to be transferred to 4K and I was disappointed with the results.He must fight his way through the centuries until the time of The Gathering, when the few immortals who have survived the ages will come together to fight until only one remains. Their EP’s worth of songs providing so much of that emotional heart of the film, it's difficult to see how the Highlander we know would work anywhere near as well without their contribution. Some people have complained about the artwork of the steelbook but I rather like it myself - very happy to have this in my collection! Even selecting English from the startup still gives you French audio unless you go into 'versions' and select the English soundtrack. The rest of the cast are strong too; Roxanne Hart in particular has a touch of Sarah Connor about her character, even if ultimately she remains the archetype damsel in distress.

One stellar presentation of Highlander that is, and that’s exactly what we receive here with a pleasing 2160p image aided by Dolby Vision and offering a very sturdy HEVC codec. The Blu-ray will also feature several other special features, such as an interview with Mulcahy, an interview with Christopher Lambert, a "The Making of Highlander" featurette, deleted scenes, an archival interview with Christopher Lambert, and a trailer for the film. Coppola and his American Zoetrope have recently been remastering several of the director’s films in 4K (Lionsgate is releasing a remastered Dementia 13 on Blu-ray and 4K Digital on 9/21 as part of their Vestron Video Collector’s Series, and Paramount is going to be releasing the complete Godfather Trilogy in 4K Ultra HD next year in honor of the original film’s 50th anniversary), so perhaps it shouldn’t come as a surprise.Gimme The Prize is Kurgan’s theme and he is an incredible villain, even if the concept is a bit weird. After this film became a cult hit, it would inspire many sequels to come over the years between 1991 and 2007. Overall, Highlander never had an aural assault of a soundtrack given its age and its heavy music focus.
