About this deal

Think of your flat. You want to visit a friend. It’s raining and there’s a lot of traffic. But no problem, because your friend’s living next door. You leave the house, do a few steps and you’re at your friend’s front door. Dry and no traffic jam. Easy. Short cable. You get it. Since you connected the grounds of both the amps on the audio side, we created a “loop of grounds“ (the amps do have already a ground connection on/at the wall plugs). The ground connection through the third prong of the power cables and the shields of the audio cables are building a big loop, which work as an antenna for any kind of electromagnetic interference. The biggest interference is always the 50 or 60 Hz cycle hum from the net, which sounds like a deep hum. As mentioned in another blog post ( TRS: balanced or stereo or what), midi can do a lot of cool things, sync and remotely control all your gear. SGoS sends 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 (the 3at1 SGoS foot switches have two states, therefore double the amount of midi pcs) However, now and then I get mails from customers who ask for help in programming a SGoS pedal or tell me that the pedal doesn’t respond to an incoming midi message. This always takes me by surprise because programming our pedals is very easy. Ok, so I’m the tech support and enjoy manuals for bedtime reading. Even if sometimes they could do with an update in clarity, they are still fun.

Although there are slight differences in the modes and midi numbers, the examples I give you here work for all the SGoS pedals ( D.LOOP SGoS, DUAL SGoS, 1at3 SGoS and 3at1 SGoS): “How can I remotely control my LEHLE SGoS pedal?“ Press and hold all three foot switches. The LEDs will flash and one LED will remain. If it’s the left one you’re in mode 1, if it’s the middle one it’s mode 2 and the right LED means mode 3. The DUAL SGoS has a fourth mode which is displayed by the left and middle LEDs. If you’re in need of sending a different pc number range, please remove the power connection, press & hold the middle foot switch and plug in the power again. At first the left LED will come on, then the left and middle and finally all three LEDs. E.g. for the DUAL SGoS it means: A good ABY pedal is one of those invaluable, yet incredibly un-sexy, tools that should be in every guitarist's toolbox. Few gear nerds develop lustful feelings towards these typically unadorned little boxes, but overlooking the power of such a simple, utilitarian device is a big mistake. The LEHLE LITTLE DUAL II is the successor to the Lehle Little Dual and is a maximum signal-fidelity amp switcher for two amps. By using the soft-touch switches you can switch between two connected amplifiers hum-free and without sound loss. A: Yes, you get a balanced or unbalanced (mono-) signal from transformer-isolated output A when using a stereo (TRS) cable. With the release of the Little Lehle III you can now combine mono and stereo signals. This will allow you to integrate an effects pedal with a mono input and stereo output into the signal path of the Little Lehle III without limitations. The LEHLE-Switch works with a microcontroller and an intelligent true bypass relay circuit with an active pop suppression function, thereby allowing the Little Lehle III to switch even faster than mechanical switches, noise free and without wear.

So now the end result is that I have been experimenting with using lower wattage dual amp configurations in lieu of higher powered single amp rigs. I really love the sound of the 40w-50w combos. It feels to me like higher power pushes the sound to something more physical (and dangerous!). In addition, the smaller combos need little in the way of pushing to get them to that proverbial “sweet spot.” Usually more than 45w provokes stage-volume confrontation with your sound engineer! The Little Dual functions like a standard ABY, with two switches, one for toggling between A and B, and another for engaging both A and B at once. It has a pair of bright LEDs, phase reverse and ground lift switches, and Lehle's superb LTHZ transformer, which isolates the outputs from each other for maximum noise and hum rejection capabilities. Gear nerds can definitely lust after a Lehle. As I mentioned, the company is a true innovator in the switching world, with brilliant designs that integrate amp switching, effects loops, MIDI, and all sorts of other wonderful things, but they also make a relatively basic and very robust ABY called the Little Dual. The Lehle P-Split III combines passive splitting with the highest possible signal fidelity. Its applications range from splitting signals and eliminating hum, to balancing and reamplification along with any signal routing that requires a clean signal free from noise.

Of course your instrument has to be in tune. But detuning a little bit has never hurt anyone. And of course we don’t use the tuners at your instrument but taking advantage of pedals, because we love them! If you are combining all these 3, level, time and pitch, you can create a beautiful hovering stereo sound. There are endless possibilities. But don’t use too much! The more amount of everything you are using, the more indirect your signal gets and you most likely get lost in space. If you press and hold, the LED will flash and save the state. You successfully filled a cell in your spreadsheet! If you want to change the other two columns, don’t let me stop you.
