During the review period for the Sovol SV01 Pro, E3D had an easter challenge to print this E3D Overhang Egg. As you can see, it’s quite a challenging print for any 3D printer but the Sovol SV01 Pro was able to print it successfully on the first try. Anyways, give it a go and print something small with settings X280 and Y240. The worst case would be, that it is printed turned by 90 degrees. The XYZ Cube would be handy here. The new Guide conclude includes the installation guide of filament sensor, z limit switch, the cables of display, the steps of updating firmware etc..... It will be easier to understand, more friendly for 3d printer beginners. Thanks Nrom for his revise. As you might expect, the Sovol SV01 Pro comes with a direct drive extruder, the same which is installed on the SV04. I had a good experience using this extruder on the SV04, but it wasn’t as good on the SV01 Pro.

Please make sure you press this exrtuder clip out when you load the filament and pre-heat the nozzle to 180°. Important safety feature that so many other 3D printers do not have, this ensures the SV01 stops sending power to heating elements in the event of an error. This can prevent catastrophic overheating and in worse case scenarios fire! As you might expect from a 2022 3D printer, the Sovol SV01 Pro comes with belt tensioners on both the X and Y-axis. Nothing special to be honest, but it’s good to have them in case you need to adjust belt tension. Another attractive feature of the SV01 Pro is the Dual Z axis support. Most “mid-tier” printers come with dual Z lead screws which is nice, but the SV01 Pro doesn’t have a Z sync belt to keep the motors in sync.

Keep in mind not to turn too much, cause 4 knobs is actually one too much - the bed base will deform to much. Overall, the print came out pretty good but inconsistent extrusion can be seen on the lettering, and the damage on the printing surface can be seen on the bottom of the plaque. We have a passable result. Anyway, I'm reasonably pleased given that this is my first time doing any of it... Auto-leveling SV03 will make adjustments to ensure the bed and nozzle are at an optimum distance throughout the printing, which improves bed adhesion and print quality. TMC2208 board has a resolution upwards of 256 individually smaller, high-res steps and thus less noise is generated in the coils of the motor.I like printing this Flexi Fox because it’s a good test when it comes to cooling and also bed adhesion. I printed this one in PETG and as you can see, it’s not a successful print. The tail section didn’t remain attached to the bed until the end which shows the less than ideal adhesion performance of the SV01 Pro print surface.
