Whenever I mention words like grit, resiliency, or grinding it out, inevitably, I get the response, “well, that doesn’t sound like much fun! A psychologist who wrote a wonderful book entitled Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance, Angela Duckworth, defines grit as “perseverance and passion for long-term goals. You will have to take a much deeper dive into your game to figure out what is holding you back and what habits you need to change to get there.Then I spent hours of meaningful practice to settle on a wedge technique that I could feel comfortable with. The focus on how to improve your game without offering swing advice is an approach that can help a lot of players who are caught in an unending cycle of terrible quick tips from golf magazines and youtube instruction. It does rehash some of what o learned in the book titled “Golf By the Numbers” by Roland Minton” and that is good info. Anyone who has read "The Practice Manual" (written by the author's podcast partner) or "Be a Player" by Nilsson and Marriott will find a lot of similarities in this book.

My overall rating reflects the fact that there isn't much here for people who've already explored a lot of other high quality golf instruction books. Hopefully, you don’t see this as counterintuitive or contradictory, but I’m going to change gears here a bit. If you like what I've been doing on Practical Golf, you will find this book far more comprehensive and organized than anything I have ever done.
