Its name comes from the Coffey stills, used in making whiskey, located at the company's Miyagikyo Distillery.Only after the distillation process is fresh water from the mountain source added, which gives this gin its fresh taste. Nikka, not to be outdone by others in Japan, launched their first gin, the Nikka Coffey Gin, to grow their own stable of other Coffey or column distilled spirits. By combining new flavours that enhance and complement each other, Kimio Yonezawa has created a new innovative and unconventional type of gin: the “Hyogo Dry Gin”. Refreshing yuzu peel, aromatic Shiso leaf, toasted white sesame and sansho pepper spice are carefully selected to create a dry, crisp gin with green notes that perfectly capture the aromatic subtlety of the Japanese palate.
