About this deal

This offering from Taylor's is balanced and elegant on the nose, the palate warm and rich with lovely weighted fruit, round tannins and, naturally, fabulous length. In the case of this 20-year-old Tawny, the fruit has mellowed even further, offering a symphony of flavours that have reached the pinnacle of refinement. Ageing of tawny port takes place in casks rather than large tanks or bottles like their counterparts ruby port. Inviting and complex palate of dried apricot richness, caramel and nutty notes, and interesting saline hint, and date and candied fruit leading to a sumptuous long finish.

The greatest concentration of vineyards is in Castilla-La Mancha, but the finest and most famous wines come from Galicia (Rias Baixas), Catalonia (Cava and Priorat), Andalucia (Sherry), Castilla y Leon (Rueda, Toro and Ribera del Duero) and of course Rioja.
