Disappointingly, there are fewer HDMI ports – three instead of four, but ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) are covered across all of them so you could plug a game console into any port and benefit from those features – though they are HDMI 2.0 ports, not 2.1 specified. eARC is supported on HDMI 2 for pass-through of lossless audio.

The Hisense 50A7GQTUK is a 50-inch 4K Smart TV produced by Hisense, a Chinese multinational white goods and electronics manufacturer. Based on my knowledge cut off in 2021, Hisense is known for producing high-quality TVs with advanced features and a relatively low price point. Also including four HDMI and three USB ports, you can link up a range of devices from laptops and soundbars to Blu-Ray players and games consoles. With Bluetooth connectivity, you can stream content from your smartphone or tablet. And, control your TV with your voice thanks to Alexa and Google Assistant. The Hisense 50E77HQTUK QLED Gaming Series TV is highly competitive compared to other brands. Its picture quality, sound quality, and features are on par with other high-end TV brands such as Samsung and LG. However, the Hisense TV is more affordable than these brands, making it an attractive option for customers looking for a more reasonably priced high-quality TV. The Hisense 50E77HQTUK QLED Gaming Series TV does not feature a One Connect Box. This feature is only available on Samsung TVs and allows you to connect all your devices to a single box, which then connects to the TV via a single cable. This reduces cable clutter and makes it easier to manage all your devices. Accessories As a big-screen fitting for sports and movies, it also starts at a slightly cheaper asking price than the U7QF model it replaces. Assembly is easy and, like before, there’s a cable clutter system to route cables through the protruding ‘feet’ of the stand for a tidier area. The stand supports the TV well, just like it did on the older model, but it takes up a lot of space. We consider this as a low price and a pretty good deal, that is why today we will take a closer look at the50A7GQTUK product features and specifications. Which leads me to the one egregious aspect of the A7G’s design. The stand is just too big. If you have an area (or whatever furniture you’re using) big enough to accommodate both the A7G and a soundbar – and you will want to partner this TV with a soundbar – then it’s fine. If you don’t, the stand causes some unnecessary faffing about to make space. The interface is separated into several sections, but apps is where the action is. The app selection is focused rather than bountiful; Netflix has pride of place on the top row and all the UK catch-up apps are covered (as Freeview Play), with Disney+ and Britbox available also. There’s VIDAA Free, which rounds up a selection of free content from the likes of Plex, Vevo, YouTube and Facebook Watch for more options.Colours looked accurate and natural, whether you’re watching nature documentaries or dramas. Although admittedly, the HDR brightness isn’t as bright as you’d get elsewhere so the contrast could be better. You'll only really see the impact of this when you're watching particularly dark movies or using it on a sunny day. There’s no adaptive brightness to automatically adjust the display settings according to the lighting conditions in the room. As such, you’ll get the best viewing experience from it on a dreary day or in the evening. Watch the action unfold seamlessly with Smooth Motion, reducing blur and screen lag for clearer, more fluid scenes. Boost your chances of winning with input lag less than 20ms. Panel uniformity is reasonable, but with a darker center despite the FALD. Sometimes, with some content, you may see a lighter image at the bottom edge. This is noticeable when you are sitting right in front of the TV. With a 5% decrease in brightness, the perimeter of the screen is again slightly brighter than the center. But the panel is clean and without the obvious Dirty Screen Effect (DSE). Therefore, sports programs look good. The A7G is also a QLED TV with Quantum Dot technology built into the panel to give purer looking colours, although it doesn’t quite reach the full width of the DCI-P3 colour gamut for HDR, instead Hisense states 90% coverage. Other features include an AI picture processor for upscaling, and Dolby Atmos support for immersive audio is also built-in though the TV obviously only has two speakers. Second, the 55A7GQ’s upscaling of sub-4K sources is rather basic. On the upside, the upscaling does quite well at making pictures look sharp, adding eye-catching emphasis and definition to lines, edges and textures. Unfortunately though, the upscaling seems to make little if any effort to distinguish source noise from real image information, and so ends up sharpening and emphasising noise as well as ‘real’ image information. It also tends to over-exaggerate grain.
