About this deal

Bears comparison with his 2000 novel , Man and Boy ... Laced with humanity and the shadow of guilt, this is Parsons at his very best.' DAILY MAIL Indeed, Deuteronomy gives a quite different reason from Exodus: oddly enough, the reason, the exodus. It states (5:15): ‘And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.’ If a man commits adultery with the wife of an Israelite, both he and the woman shall be put to death. This is a emotion charged read, based around what happens when a wife, for no real reason she can say except she had the chance, has a one night stand with someone she meets in Tokyo at a hotel bar, confident this is a blip in her happy family life and not wanting it to be anymore than that and genuinely not doing it for any motive, she loves her husband, son, career and life, it really is a spur of the moment rash decision that wont haunt her

The following afternoon, the neighboring jazz band starts rehearsing, prompting the playwright to march next door to request silence. Standing in the foyer, he discovers his neighbor’s wife is, in fact, the same woman he intruded on at the bathhouse the other day. (What’s more, she’s the jazz band’s singer.) Shibano’s attempts to quiet down the rehearsals come up short, and he ends up being treated to a session of uplifting songs; which, to his delight, provide him with the inspiration he needs to finish his play.

Gripping. Compelling. Plausible. And full of twists that I could never have predicted. Just read this. This left me feeling annoyed and completely pissed off! It's so upsetting how the events in the plot played out, probably so I could have some sympathy for a lying-cheating-mess of a woman like Tara. Damn. The outcome of this book was so unfair. I didn't like it. It took me a ton of patience to finish this. I hate Tara. I hate how the other characters were written and portrayed to be shallow fillers and diversions. MY THOUGHTS: I read Your Neighbour's Wife in less than twenty four hours. This is the fifth of Tony Parsons books that I have read, and the fifth five star rating. This is very different to his Max Wolfe series, but every bit as compelling, as good, if not better. This is a gripping story of love, family, friendship, marriage and infidelity.

What do you do when your perfect life spins out of control? A gripping psychological thriller from bestselling author Tony Parsons. Overall, a really good and enjoyable psychological thriller that examines bad choices, harsh life lessons and bitter regrets and loss. The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death. If a man commits adultery with another man's wife or with his neighbor's wife, both he and the woman must be put to death for their adultery.Tara Carver seems to have the perfect life. A loving mother and wife, and a business woman who runs her own company, she's the sort of person you'd want to live next door to, who might even become your best friend.

I went on reading because I was eager to find out how Tara would deal with James to protect her family and career and also to what extent James would go to destroy it all. It was definitely tension filled. As Kristin Swenson points out in her endlessly informative A Most Peculiar Book: The Inherent Strangeness of the Bible, there are in fact three biblical versions of the Ten Commandments: Exodus 20:2-17, Deuteronomy 5:6-21, and Leviticus chapter 19. The first two of these are the ones we tend to know, and are clearly where the list now known as the ‘Ten Commandments’ was derived from. And a man who committeth adultery with a man's wife -- who committeth adultery with the wife of his neighbour -- the adulterer and the adulteress are surely put to death. I’m new to Tony Parsons and will be reading more of his books after having read and enjoyed Your Neighbour’s Wife. Emotionally powerful, beautifully written and observed, this is one to savour.' CARA HUNTER, author of Close to Home and All the RageThanks for reading my review! Join me as a friend or follower and feel free to browse my shelves for your next great book! What puzzles me is the indeterminate time Lana (and co-writer 'Denoy Punio' (qv)) spends on Aaron's character. Understandably, his character is the more interesting of the men, since in the beginning he was an faithful husband looking for that one great successful venture that would seal things nicely. As he gradually becomes obsessed with Jasmine, the character of Bullet takes to the sidelines. While I didn’t particularly like any of the characters, except the child and the dog, they were well written and portrayed. I simply didn’t connect with them or their choices on a personal level. However, the antagonist was very well written and believable, and that guy got what was coming to him for sure. Despite its critical and commercial success, The Neighbor’s Wife and Mine failed to propel sound film into mainstream status in Japan. The country produced an approximate four hundred features in 1932; of that number, a mere forty-five were talkies. [10] And May of that year validated the fears that studio executives had of the live performers who traditionally accompanied silent films: after Nikkatsu produced a few talkies in 1932, its benshi and orchestra unions went on strike, using their political muscle to temporarily shut down the company’s studios. [11] Silent movies remained a while longer, but The Neighbor’s Wife and Mine had nonetheless demonstrated that Japan could use synchronized audio to both technological and artistic success. And Heinosuke Gosho’s picture remains an impressive piece of work, nine decades after its release. At less than an hour in length, The Neighbor’s Wife and Mine tells its story efficiently, its entertainment value built upon comic situations enhanced and propelled by clever use of sound and visuals together—and just enough social clash to service both. I was actually attracted to my sister in law before ever even meeting my wife. She works in my company, but was already married at the time. She's very short at 4 '10, blonde hair, brown eyes....wide hipped but amazing legs and feet. Her skin is always that tan color and they always look so smooth. Her feet are size 6 and toes are on the shorter side, but they are perfect in every way.

The man who commits adultery with another man's wife shall surely be put to death, both the adulterer and the adulteress. This fantastically crafted story has more twists and turns than a bowl of truffle pasta 🍝 😏 and I am absolutely here 👏🏻 for 👏🏻 it 👏🏻 The characters are undoubtedly human as we learn just how fallible they can be, even Tara’s seemingly perfect husband, Christian reveals some pretty dark tendencies... Watanabe’s characters in Kurosawa films include the nihilistic patient in Ikiru (1952), whose descriptions of stomach cancer symptoms alert the protagonist, played by Takashi Shimura, that he’s fatally ill. Another memorable role was as the coffin-maker in Yojimbo (1961). Watanabe’s final screen appearance, for Kurosawa and for his career as a whole, was as the tinker in Dodesukaden (1970) I think that’s inseparable. Rita Ora’s birthday party – I’m sorry I did it but even more sorry that I got caught. That’s what we’re really sorry about. It would be a different world If you didn’t get caught, everybody would be happier in blissful ignorance. Tara does regret it, she regrets that it’s caused this, it’s never worth hurting people that you love for some thing that’s got the emotional depth of a Deliveroo pizza. It’s not worth it but at the same time if the situation was the same it would probably happen all over again. If anyone commits adultery with another man's wife, including when someone commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, both the adulterer and the adulteress are to die.If a man commits adultery with a married woman—if he commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death. Your Neighbour’s Wife is about a happily married couple, Tara and Christian, they have a child, they are in love. Tara runs a successful business, she is asked to speak at a conference of entrepreneurs in Japan. It’s the first time she’s been away from home, from Christian, in years. A confluence of circumstances and opportunity lead to Tara having a one night stand. Her lover doesn’t take rejection, when they return to the UK he becomes her stalker, everything in Tara’s life is turned upside down. When the stalker is killed both Tara and Christian are suspects, gradually the drama envelops their family and friends. The domestic situation is every bit as important as the who done it element of the story. First the good things; it was well written and had a decent pace with twists and turns and the first half was good. Unfortunately I didn't feel that the second half lived up to the first. I can't for the life of me figure out why Tara put her family at risk for James Caine. He had sleaze written all over him. Also some of the characters were obviously only there for plot points - the main example being Skyla, I had an idea why her character was included and was annoyed to find out I was right. I originally felt sorry for Tara's husband, Christian, but then he gradually began to annoy me more and more, and the plot became more and more preposterous. When I finished the book, it left me with a profound sense of irritation as most of the characters were just awful people. It was not what I expected. Your Neighbour's Wife is absolutely terrifying in its plausibility. If anyone is considering infidelity, I strongly urge them to read Parsons book first. Your Neighbour’s Wife is told from two perspectives – the husband and the wife. My editor and my agent were very strict about me making those two different voices sound totally credible and very distinct from each other. So I think maybe that’s why the prose sounds a bit different – I’m trying to stay in character.
