About this deal

At the time of the announcement – in March 2022 – that Warrington is to ‘Pass GO’ in time for this Christmas, the public was invited to send in suggestions for squares to fill the board and ideas for customised Chance and Community Chest cards. Polls have now closed. Ms Lau, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK – who are producing the board under official license from the MONOPOLY brand, owned by Hasbro – added: “A huge thank you to everyone who sent in suggestions. The response exceeded all our expectations. The most inventive and creative entry will win. We are totally open-minded as to the form the entries should take, be they visual or in video form or in whatever creative form. As the launch of the game is during the October half-term holidays then we also invite teachers to consider setting artistic projects. Any such entries would be great. Anyone can be a VIP from 5 to 105 and beyond!” Warrington Disability Partnership's annual Appreciation of Efforts awards recently took place, giving the charity the opportunity to recognise volunteers and other individuals and organisations who have made outstanding contributions towards improving the lives of local disabled people over the last year. VIDEO:WARRINGTON is set to become the first place in Cheshire to get its very own official Monopoly game – and members of the public have a chance to suggest famous landmarks to feature in the iconic board game. This outlines the current situation here at WDP in light of the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

The board – which is set to feature key locations from around the town such as Walton Hall and Gardens, the Golden Gates, and the home of the Warrington Wolves, the Halliwell Jones Rugby Stadium, all of which are each tipped to feature prominently – is being officially launched at Walton Hall and Gardens on the same day it is released in shops. The brand-new Monopoly Warrington edition features Walton Hall and Gardens which has been unveiled as the Park Lane of Warrington, next to the Golden Gates, which has taken the spot commonly known as Mayfair on the original board. It’s great to see so many much-loved landmarks, locations, organisations and charities have made it onto the board – the beautiful Walton Hall and Gardens, the Town Hall and Golden Gates, Old Market Square, Queen’s Gardens, the Transporter Bridge, and even the Pink Eye building!Moore Nature Reserve – The beauty spot comprises almost 200 acres of woodland, meadows, lakes and ponds, and is home to many diverse species of plants, animals.

Ms Lau, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK – who is producing the board under official license from the MONOPOLY brand, owned by Hasbro – added: “A huge thank you to everyone who sent in suggestions.

The other interesting fact from the occasion was that all four players took a chance and ended up winning money on each occasion! The Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Maureen Creaghan, said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for people to share their ideas about Warrington locations that should be included as part of this iconic game. Time to show some seasonal goodwill and end bin strike now! posted on 27th November 2023 8:00 am | under News, Opinion, Top Featured Post
