This complex blend is one of the most enigmatic—and sought-after—whiskies in the world. Other Hibiki expressions include its 17 year old (discontinued but still seen in many shops), 21 year old, and no-age statement Hibiki Japanese Harmony. The 30 year old is the oldest Hibiki release, though Suntory's oldest whisky ever is Yamazaki 55 year old, which came out last fall. This release honors the sakura, which is the Japanese word for cherry blossom. The sakura is Japan's national flower, and cherry blossom season in Japan is a major celebratory occasion throughout the country. The blossoming carries a great deal of meaning for the Japanese people, who see it as symbolizing life's joy and beauty, but also of its transience. Japanese whisky producer House of Suntory will release a limited-edition bottling of Hibiki Harmony Japanese whisky that was finished in sakura wood casks, according to The Spirits Business.

Distilled by Pennington Distilling Co., Davidson Reserve Genesis is made with a mashbill of 70% corn, 25% rye, and 5% malted barley; barreled in October 2014; and is bottled in bond. The first batch of Genesis was released as a 4 year old in 2018. This year's batch is a blend of 6-8 year old bourbons. The Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2021 brought more of the same well-balanced, perfectly crafted whisky, but with a twist – the blenders at Suntory gave Hibiki liquid a Sakura cask finish, allowing us to explore their fine craftsmanship from a completely new angle. As with last year's Octomore releases, all three of these whiskies will be available in the U.S. (previously, the .2 was typically available exclusively in Travel Retail). Octomore's claim to fame is being the world's most heavily peated whisky, and these certainly deliver eye-popping phenol content for the peat lovers out there. If we decide not to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms, such decision shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. B and B-: Good and above average. The best of the mass market whiskeys fit in this category, as do the bulk of the premium brands. A B- is three stars.

Whisky reviews for Hibiki Blossom Harmony

Hibiki Blossom Harmony’s unique bottle design has 24 facets encircling the bottle, with each facet connecting to the next in a natural harmony. The Sakura is Japan’s unofficial national flower and the Sakura blossom season in early Spring is a meaningful event for the Japanese people and has delighted those eager to see the delicate flowers welcome the coming of warmer weather for over 1000 years . At this point, a new release of The Vaults is cause for excitement, as every previous release has proven delicious—last year's edition scored 93 points, while the 2020 whiskey scored a 94. While it will be available nationwide through the holiday season, it is on allocation, so keep your eyes peeled in-store and online if you're hoping to secure a bottle.

By adding a finishing stage in casks made from one of Japan’s national flowers, Suntory brings the representation of the Sakura trees to whisky. Beautiful and layered on the nose, it invites you in to it’s bouquet, giving you a different experience but one that is welcome. The finish stays with you, leaving you wanting even more with each sip. The wood adds a beautiful elegance to the product, yet also reminds us of the beauty of what nature offers, and the many hours that the craftsmen poured into making such an excellent product. Batch 11 in GlenDronach's much celebrated Grandeur series is a 28 year old single malt aged in Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry casks. For the new 2022 release, they have taken the same approach and, as expected, it’s smooth, gentle and moreish, with the light fruits and creaminess of Hibiki whisky merging seamlessly with the gentle floral tones and light spices imparted by the Sakura cask. The end result is a unique, memorable drinking experience and a whisky that is well worth telling your friends about. At 18 years old, this is the oldest Knob Creek released to date, aged for twice as long as its flagship bourbon. Our Service is an online platform which provides Members with information (e.g. bottle facts, market-indices, market values and prices) on (mostly) whisky and allows Members to add information to the platform. We do not sell, nor does the Service provide any option to buy, any alcoholic products. The following indicators should be taken as only a guide and not a set of hard and fast rules. Some "premium" whiskeys really are quite terrible, while some mass market products are good enough to pour into a decanter and serve to the Duke of Edinburgh. A+: A masterpiece and one of the ten best whiskeys of its type. Above five stars. This is the third Basil Hayden line extension since August of 2021, following the release of Toastand Subtle Smoke. Beam just celebrated the 30 th anniversary of its small batch line, which includes Basil Hayden, Booker's, Baker's, and Knob Creek, and was created by 6 th-generation master distiller Booker Noe. Now his grandson is leading innovation at Beam, with Freddie at the helm of the new Fred B. Noe Distillery in Clermont. The one aims to appeal to wine drinkers and whiskey lovers alike. Since 1923, Suntory has been renowned as the pioneer of Japanese Whisky for its House of Master Blenders and for their Art of Blending. Founder Shinjiro Torii built Japan's first malt whisky distillery in Yamazaki, and the Suntory legacy continued with Torii's son and Suntory's second Master Blender, Keizo Saji, who continued to establish distilleries including the Hakushu distillery. As the generations of Suntory's master blenders carry on, Suntory Whisky remains committed to heritage and innovation. The House of Suntory has been named four-time Distiller of the Year at the International Spirits Challenge in London, UK (2010, 2012, 2013, 2014). Suntory Whiskies are subtle, refined and complex. The portfolio includes two single malt whiskies: Yamazaki—Japan's number one single malt, multi-layered and profound, and Hakushu—verdant, fresh, and delicately smoky; and two blends: the noble blend, Hibiki—Japan's most highly awarded blended whisky and Suntory Whisky Toki. The House of Suntory portfolio also offers Roku Japanese Gin and Haku Japanese Vodka. Created from Japanese ingredients by the master artisans at the House of Suntory, Roku Gin and Haku Vodka represent the nature and spirit of Japan.
