About this deal

The fact that this can be used by any other rider as long as they have the Tread app and have created a free account is outstanding. A rider could attach their phone to the bike then use the app to follow the other riders. Of course, while it displays full mapping (including satellite views), this isn’t a fully-fledged nav system in itself, and you can’t share routes to a Garmin Explore account without registering a Garmin device. You open the route, there's like a little box with a pencil in it that gives the impression it's for editing. When you touch that, it will open your route, "calculate it", and set every single shaping point you have to a WAYPOINT! Great! (Sarcasm intended). You can go in to the route here (or later using the unit) to deselect one by one, each and every shaping point you have that you don't want to be alerted on, or see as a waypoint along your journey. The Garmin zumo XT2 features built-in Bluetooth technology which enable you to make and receive hands-free calls.

Hi, newbie here! Out on a ride yesterday I met with a friend, put a route together on my Zumo XT2 and then wanted to transfer this route to his Zumo... 5 Replies 154 Views Last post by jfheath The Garmin zumo XT2 is the latest motorcycle sat nav from Garmin. It is the successor from a line of leading and ground breaking Garmin zumo motorcycle sat navs including the popular Garmin zumo 660 and Garmin zumo XT models. The Garmin zumo XT2 provides spoken turn-by-turn directions through your connected helmet or headset. I have had the Zumo XT2 for a week and have had nothing but problems. I'm thinking some of them must be on... 40 Replies 947 Views Last post by lkraus Garmin calls the new Zūmo XT2’s on-screen ride creator a “visual route planner”. Creating whole routes on both the Tread app and the XT2 is intuitive. This feature makes it very easy to change your route due to weather, or when discovering a new point of interest. You save the route on your phone and share it wirelessly. When outside of cell service coverage, you can save to a microSD card in your XT2 and hand it to your riding partners to upload the old-fashion way. Both the Tread app and the XT2 allow me to set a start point, add stops and shaping points, find gas stations, food, places to sleep, and points of interest, and easily create a route segment or the whole route for our ride. While the other riders can disappear off the map view you’re in, touching the navigation icon cycles between 3D nav view, top-down nav, and zoomed out to accommodate all riders. According to the Tread owners manual it should be as easy as exporting the route to a .gpx file and then using a file explorer to copy that file to the GPX folder on the XT2 which should be listed as an attached device. It is the same verbiage that is in the XT owners manual. Does this not work as described?

Thank you for any help you can offer. Please feel free to overstate any obvious steps I need to take. Trust me, I am not proficient at this stuff at all. Those covers work well, but if pulled awkwardly they can pop out, and refitting them is a fiddly job that requires a small screwdriver, so don’t pull too enthusiastically on them. In our product Snippet this week, I chat with Teejay Adams about the new Cortech Lite gloves. Essentially, Cortech has utilized a new type of material that is both super-thin yet tough, and perfectly suited to lightweight riding gloves. Since motorcycle sat-navs switched from touch-screens (with a film over the top to sense presses, while also reducing clarity) to capacitive screens like those used on mobile phones, they’ve become somewhat susceptible to rain droplets activating them.
