The format of the codices has varied somewhat over the years. The most common elements between iterations include: The Adeptus Custodes have access to many powerful Relics with which to slay the enemies of the God-Emperor, but sometimes it’s difficult to decide which one to take. Rules in expansions remain valid unless superseded by a newer publication. The Adeptus Custodes are masters of melee combat, able to use different fighting stances to adapt to different situations. In 9th Edition this was represented by a slightly complicated set of rules for cycling through the stances, but in 10th Edition it’s been heavily simplified, and is focused on the Fight Phase rather than having a grab bag of effects. Solar Watch‘s Talon Sortie is all about movement and mobility gaining plus 1 to advance and charge rolls, even gaining +1 to movement if the unit has an Implacable Vanguard.
