About this deal

My friends at Cappelen Damm, my publishing house, were instrumental in introducing me to the people I needed to speak to. Grieg’s Peer Gynt suite has always been one of my favourites – both ‘Morning Mood’ and ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’ are such iconic pieces of music.

Amazing story, amazing character building, relatable and loveable characters and a history that is believable! My fictional characters – in this case, Anna and Jens – are woven into the factual truth of real-life events. But with her life now turned upside down, Ally decides to leave the open seas and follow the trail that her father left her, which leads her to the icy beauty of Norway . The Storm Sister is the second book in the Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley and the book is amazing! I’m thrilled that my readers have been so captivated by the series and have been speculating so much on social media.I want to know how this will all turn out in the end but after reading the "authors note" it seems I have to wait until book 7 comes out.

Everyone's gotta have flat stomachs, robust curls, and perfect waistlines, and be super gorgeous and perfect and successful. Lucinda Riley shows once again that she's a master when it comes to writing stories with two different timelines. Although this is the second book, hence we get a brief idea about all the six sisters as well as some of the supporting cast in the first book.

These books flip from today and then right back to great grandparents time which is a lovely Idea and normally works but we get such a heartbreaking start before the first step back in time I wasn't really interested. Ally D'Aplièse is about to compete in one of the world's most perilous yacht races, when she hears the news of her adoptive father's sudden, mysterious death. There, Ally begins to discover her roots – and how her story is inextricably bound to that of a young unknown singer, Anna Landvik, who lived there over a hundred years before, and sang in the first performance of Grieg's iconic music set to Ibsen's play 'Peer Gynt'. Ally meets the love of her life through sailing and after tragic circumstances she finds herself in Norway.

Nothing to dislike especially if you like a bit of history, can't believe it took me this long to find them, but at least I don't have to wait for the next one to come out! It really did become the background music to my own childhood, as he eulogized about the beauty of the country, especially the magnificent fjords. The sheer arrogance of 'I get to patronize you in the name of protectiveness, but you don't get to veto my self-destructive decisions' drove me up the fucking walls. And the plot is written in a back and forth, past/present, style that captivates and engages you as it sweeps you along through the highs and lows of both Ally and Anna’s life. This story is predominantly set in Norway during the late 1800s, as well as present day, and is told from two different perspectives, Ally, a young sailor who journeys to Scandinavia to unravel the mystery surrounding her ancestry after suffering heartbreaking tragedies; and Anna a country girl with an angelic voice that at times was not only a blessing but a curse. Bet on the next round of the game - each novel corresponds to its own kind of art: the first sculpture, the second music. Ich habe früher selber jahrelang klassische Musik im Orchester gespielt und möchte ihre Beschreibungen dahingehend sehr.
