About this deal

In this sewing stitch tutorial video, Chelsey will show you how to do cross stitch with a clear demonstration and top tips for how to create neat cross stitches.

You will see and hear cross stitch fabric referred to as having a ‘count’. The count of the cross stitch fabric tells you small the crosses created will be. The higher the count of a cross stitch fabric, the smaller the crosses required. The count of a fabric tells you how many cross stitches are in an inch of the fabric, so if you were using Aida 14 fabric for a cross stitch project, you would expect to stitch 14 cross stitches across to cover an inch of the fabric. This can help you to calculate the size of your finished cross stitch project. Our Cross Stitch Sewing Video Tutorial for textiles classes can be used to introduce children to cross stitch with close-up examples. In the video, children can see demonstrations of different techniques like: Stitch together a rainbow patterned butterfly with our symmetrical Butterfly Cross Stitch Pattern template, 6 count binka bright embroidery floss. It also gives them an opportunity to exercise their creativity and develop their design skills by making their own patterns, and can be an easy route for introducing more difficult kinds of embroidery. It’s perfect for introducing cross stitch techniques as part of a design and technology textiles project.
