About this deal

From one group of self-involved egotists to another, it’s the pointy-helmed Aelves of Hysh. This insufferably well-oiled Vanari Shining Host focuses on the Tyrionic half of the Realm-lords’ martial forces, bringing 23 models of archers, spearmen, and cavalry to bear with gleaming precision. He is a close combat brute with a manreaper; effective against both hard and soft targets. His Lord of the Death Guard aura combos well with Vector of Disease as they both encourage you to close the range for maximum benefit. The drone undoubtfully gets Plaguespitters. This is a great vehicle that can fly far, advance, and then hit the target automatically with flamers. It’s quite durable and enemies don’t pay much attention to them, so it can go behind the enemy line, clear objectives and destroy small enemy units. Likewise, there is no longer an official Death Guard model. Instead, he does give you the opportunity to build an unique unit from the same bin of parts as the Chaos Lord. You’ll need to find something suitable cool for the force stave or axe. They’re traditional and you don’t want to minus to hit from a fist. Lord of War

Warhammer 40,000 Battleforces – Praise the Emperor This

All these units compose a roster of 2000 points depending on the wargear you take. It’s easy to make it 2500 – just take Mortarion. He’s quite deadly and doesn’t really need support. The main thing – don’t forget to cast -1 to hit every turn. There’s no way to heal him, so, unprotected, he dies very fast. The main event next week is Battleforces, massive boxes containing a wealth of units for a faction. They’re the ideal place to start a new army for the new year , or to expand an existing force. There are 10 boxes (count ‘em) split between Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. First up, everyone’s favourite grim future gets six boxes.

Whenever Space Marines go to war, they strike hard and fast, and the Shieldbreaker Strike Force is set up to do just that. With enough Troops to hold down objectives, an elite cadre of veterans can focus on bringing down their toughest foes in bloody close combat. If you’re after a nigh-unstoppable force that advances inexorably into battle, and against which even the fiercest assault will break, the Plaguefester Warband is the set for you. In addition to a solid force of infantry in the form of Plague Marines and Deathshroud Terminators, you’ll get the supporting firepower of a Plagueburst Crawler and a trio of deadly Myphitic Blight-haulers. Choosing a Death Guard Chaos Lord for your HQ means you’re running your plague company on a budget. He has a basic profile in power armor, broad selection of ranged and melee weapons, and Lord of the Death Guard aura to boost his followers in melee. A 4+ invulnerable from the Sigil of Corruption never is out of style either.

Magnus the Red is the 41st Millenium’s premiere big scarlet-skinned chap, at least until his very angry brother turns up. Joining him are 23 of his sons – 20 dusty Rubric Marines and three Exalted Sorcerers living their best arcane life.

This foetid warband includes squads of bulging Plague Marines and Deathshroud Terminators , as well as three Myphitic Blight-haulers and a Plagueburst Crawler to form a revolting spearhead that’s almost impossible to take down. Do you like Intercessors? Good, then this box is for you. 25 of the 29 models in this battleforce are some flavor of Intercessor, whether your preference be assault, chunky, or vanilla. Rounding out the box are three Bladeguard Veterans, the least interesting Primaris Captain, and a Storm Speeder for folks who are curious about how long a T6 flyer with no invulnerable save will survive. The box is okay. Not great, not terrible. Existing Space Marine players likely already have more than enough Intercessors, but it’s a perfectly legitimate Patrol for the Astartes curious. At least for me it would have been more appealing had the box gone all-in on being a big boy heavy force, perhaps with Eradicators, more Heavy Intercessors, and the original boltstorm gauntlet Gravis Captain. As it stands I recommend looking instead at the various Combat Patrol boxes, which are close to the same value and contain much more interesting units. Final Verdict: Skip It

Rating the 2021 Warhammer 40k Battleforce Boxes | Goonhammer

Ah, the Lord of Contagion. He’s a common figure on the tabletop as this was the commander from the Dark Imperium set and nearly everyone had a model. You may still find him second hand, but GW does not have him available for sale. Killdakka, what a wonderful word to say out loud… Ork speech is poetry when you think about it. This box includes 20 Boyz, plus a Deffkilla Wartrike, your choice of Orky aeroplane, and a Big Mek. That’s lots of kill, and indeed dakka. Since we’ve chosen a hard way, let’s take our close combat death star. Add Tallyman there. He must be a warlord with the 6 th trait so that to let his guys re-roll everything. Also, take an artifact helmet – this way his aura will become 10 inches. Quite expensive, but effective.

Lord of War

With our annual New Year, New Army challenge* creeping closer, it’s a phenomenal opportunity to lay the groundwork on your next hobby project. And since these battleforces will be arriving in December, they’re perfect candidates for any Warhammer+ vouchers you’ve been earning this month . On Warhammer+ this week, Interrogator season one gets a Final Cut which compiles everything into one feature-length show. The Battle Report team dive into the Ravening Ruin for a Warcry: Sundered Fate clash, while Loremasters investigates the many regiments of the Astra Millitarum. The Warhammer Vault is also getting spooky as the lore from Malign Portents is conjured into digital format, alongside White Dwarf 467, from August this year which goes deep on the design of Dominion, as well as rules for frostbitten battles between Hive Fleet Leviathan and the Dark Krakens in Flashpoint Octarius. The very first thing we need to deal with is the Lord of the Death Guard keyword. When constructing your army, each Death Guard detachment may include no more than 1 Lord of the Death Guard. Likewise, each detachment may include no more than 1 Daemon Prince. If you want many lords in your Death Guard HQ you’re going to need multiple samll detachments. On the other hand you’ll easily have room to include psychers in your list. Typhus

It’s hard enough to be stealthy when you’re a nine-foot tall super soldier, but how about the challenge of going covert with not one but two Invictor Tactical Warsuits? If anyone would know how to pull that off, it’s Raven Guard Chapter Master Kayvaan Shrike, who also leads a squad of Reivers, a trio of Eliminators, and a Phobos-armoured Librarian for a total of 17 miniatures ready for an ambush. The only currently available model, you’ll find the Malignant Plaguecaster in the Chosen of Mortarion set. Armed with a bolt pistol and corrupted staff, he’s much better in a fight than shooting. But you weren’t taking him for the shooting phase.
