It occurs in the phrase 'irin we-qadishin, "watchers and holy ones," The Watchers by A.M. Shine is a horror read. The story in this one will make you invest in a good GPS and is told by changing the point of view between the various characters.All these characters are pretty annoying. The only ones I liked? The Outsider and the Dog, Einstein. I do think Einstein should have been a chihuahua though.

The concept/plot of this book was intriguing to me and the whole ethical dilemma of animal testing with a bit of action thrown in for good measure sounded like it could be onto something. Add into that there is a Labrador running around in it then I was looking forward to it as I’m very dog friendly and was able to picture one of our Labradors as the lead.

Many locals I spoke to did seem more concerned that the national press might ruin Westfield’s good name. Koontz develops all of the characters (except Vince) quite well. We even are able to get shifting points of views about something darker than Vince that appears to be after Einstein as well. Koontz always goes over board in my opinion with his villains and Vince was definitely too much for me. It reminded me of old ghost tales… don’t go into the woods or ‘the watchers’ will get you. Filled with suspense and mystery, I just couldn’t put this book down until I knew what was going on and believe me when I say Shine keeps you waiting! Some secret societies are said to be in possession of knowledge that was inherited by the Watchers, who were led by Lucifer, the Bringer of Light. Were The Watchers Humans?

Three Versions of the Watchers’ Sin
