About this deal

Liam said he still thinks 'the game isn't very good', but I can't find his post now but he said that yet still gave it a 6. had fun with this game on the ps4 cause it was unplayable on 7th gen because the frames were so damn bad. ill admit some 7th gen games do need a remaster just for the frames alone a b Hurley, Leon (14 July 2021). "Where to find the best Metro Exodus upgrades and gear to survive the apocalypse". GamesRadar. Archived from the original on 15 January 2023 . Retrieved 22 June 2023. Purslow, Matt (14 May 2021). "Metro Exodus: PC Enhanced Edition Arrives Next Week [Update]". IGN. Archived from the original on 10 March 2021 . Retrieved 23 June 2023. This kind of storytelling can be a hit and a miss for me though. You feel entirely unattached because the characters keep making decisions for you and keep putting words in your mouth. There are games where good writing and premise can let you get away with a mute protagonist but Metro Exodus isn’t one of them, especially considering how heavy the dialogue is. Of course, this meant that the passengers on the train did have some special moments that made the fight for a better home for them more enticing.

a b Weber, Rachel (13 June 2018). "Metro Exodus brings the underground series into the light, and adds new open-world sections". GamesRadar. Archived from the original on 22 June 2023 . Retrieved 23 June 2023. At least better than that 6/10 review. On base PS4 even, it looks crazy with satisfying gameplay. Don't care about no launch bugs, any score less than an 8 for this game is insulting.Games is one of the most talented teams in the industry, but the PS4 version of Metro: Exodus – as noted in our original review – severely outpaced the technology of its time, even on the more powerful PS4 Pro. This next-gen version – available as a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade – feels like the experience that was intended in 2019. Running at 4K with a silky smooth 60 frames-per-second, Exodus also delivers 3D audio and ray tracing, which are all welcome improvements. The leap forward in performance is quite striking, similar in many ways to Remedy’s Control – another massively improved PS5 upgrade. Metro Exodus PS5 Review– Metro Exodus was already one of the best post-apocalyptic experiences on PS4, really putting you in the middle of a world devoid of life and left dilapidated. But, 4A Games have upped that with Metro Exodus’ PS5 version, which cleverly uses the DualSense controller to add to the immersion, whilst making everything visually gorgeous thanks to global illumination and ray-tracing. I was happy when they announced a PS5 version. I wanted to give it another go. Just wow! The difference between the OG PS4 and PS5 versions is astounding. The haptics are good, the graphics are so much better, and the load times of course. The game is so immersive now. I love how the mask gets fogged up when you are breathing, and wiping away the water. Photo mode is pretty cool, also. Everyone on PC who already owns Metro Exodus gets the Enhanced Edition for free across Steam, Good Old Games, the Microsoft Store, and the Epic Games Store. Yin-Poole, Wesley (8 December 2017). "Metro Exodus out autumn 2018". Eurogamer. Archived from the original on 22 June 2023 . Retrieved 22 June 2023.

Metro Exodus is strikingly beautiful a lot of the time. The environmental artists deserve a serious raise because, despite serving up a number of different locales beyond the regular nuclear winter, Exodus never disappoints. The draw distance is sumptuous and the lighting is phenomenal, though it’s a game that looks best when it’s bleak. When the sun shows up, the textures can at times appear a little murky, which might make you welcome the rendering issues that can occur after re-loads, but this is a minor gripe. Character models have never been a strength of 4A Games and this effort is no exception, though they’ve got to the next level with the monstrous distortions that hound you in the wild. Some of it is actually nightmare fuel. Nepp67 I think it's just a purely artistic choice, because mechanically I agree it doesn't really help much, but that tactile feeling and knowledge that you the player are the one catalyzing it...warm feelings all over! In its release month, Metro Exodus reached number two on the UK's sales charts. Metro Exodus sold 50% more copies than its predecessor Metro: Last Light. [67] In Japan, approximately 17,513 physical units for PS4 were sold during its launch week, making Metro: Exodus the seventh-best-selling game of any format. [68] The game debuted at number one on the weekly Switzerland retail charts. [69] Exodus was the ninth-best-selling video game in the US in February 2023; its sales in its launch month set a new record for the series. [70] MattyHammo nope, this was the first one I played and beat as well. what a amazing experience i thought for sure this game was going to get GOTY but sadly it didn't. Sekiro : Shadows Die Twice won it that year and while a decent game IMO Exodus was much greater. Higham, Michael (27 February 2019). "Metro Exodus Guide: Useful Tips To Help You Survive". GameSpot. Archived from the original on 22 June 2023 . Retrieved 22 June 2023.I love how 4A Games is constantly engaging in a d*** measuring competition with itself when new technology drops. Most re-releases get a texture/reso/framerate bump; 4A tries to apply as much current technology as the target platform is capable of handling. This is awesome.

Starting in 2014, the game was developed by a team of around 150 based in Kyiv and Malta. The Exodus studio's main objective was to combine the core gameplay pillars of the Metro series with elements from S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl (2007), which prioritizes emergent gameplay and features a large, explorable space. The team experimented with open-world gameplay and excluded mission markers so that players can explore naturally. 4A collaborated with Glukhovsky on the game's story, which focuses more on Artyom's personal story and relationships, forgoing some of the supernatural elements found in previous games for a more grounded story. Current: Metro Exodus Review (PS5) – A Gritty Post-Apocalypse Gets Better With Stunning Visual Enhancements And Immersive Features Where the slow moments in Metro Exodus do work sometimes, is when you find a friend on a train and enjoy a cigarette or when you find a zany pirate captain and have a drink with him. Slow moments can absolutely always be welcome when it works. They are not meant to draw out a conversation. Metro Exodus provides an immersive FPS experience that marks a new milestone for the franchise. Its survival-horror, sandbox and shooter elements are remarkably well balanced, constituting an engaging and thrilling game that’ll leave you no stranger to a good jump scare. The once linear horror franchise has been reformed, introducing expansive environments to indulge in without derailing the narrative. Metro Exodus is a must play. Since the novel is the original, the fun is doubled if you listen to the lines patiently and read the text carefully. An upgraded version of the game titled Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, which supports ray tracing and global illumination, was released for Microsoft Windows on 6 May 2021, and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 18 June 2021. [47] It was released as a free upgrade for all owners of the original version. [48] Beyond that, the Enhanced Edition's visual feature set on PlayStation 5 is entirely consistent with what we saw on Xbox Series X. It has the same level of detail, the same suite of ray traced effects, and the same trades up against the PC version. Even the limited variable rate shading support (used only on forward rendered elements of the presentation) is identical - though the implementation of it on consoles does not necessarily require hardware support. Similar to the VRS used in Call of Duty: Warzone, what we're seeing here can be achieved through exploiting the multi-sample anti-aliasing hardware within the GPU. And it is a bit of a shame that the full Tier Two VRS implementation isn't used on any rendition of the game, not even PC. Temporal upscaling is also used to deliver a decent-looking 4K presentation: internal resolution is lower, but detail is accumulated across frames and incorporated into the one currently rendered.
