Professional High Powered Monoculars: Monoculars with 8X high power magnification and 50mm objective lens. I have to say that I have no regrets about that whatsoever, and if I had to take just one binocular from the five which I now own it would be the NV. One of the bulbs has already blown,, after a few days use, but I contacted the supplier and he responded quickly, telling me this was unusual, and that he would send me a replacement bulb, which is hopefully on the way now, hence I am rating as 5 stars to reflect the overall service, value and responsiveness.

Supplied with a finder bracket and a matching finder shoe that will fit on many telescopes if you don't already have a Synta-style finder shoe fitted.

I picked the UVHD+ and the HT 8X54 as my "big-eye" 8X binoculars but have the SLC 10X56 and the FL 10X56 as my "big eye" 10X binoculars. This package includes a quality small articulated arm stand with a base designed to be bolted to a work station, desk or bench (model AV02-50). it was never as reliable as focusing on a slightly cratered flat surface such as a painting where the brushstrokes would suddenly snap into sharp relief and allow focus to be fine-tuned. While generally tooling about with the 8x50 today it dawned on me that, once immersed in the viewing and enjoying the image quality, any worries about weight and shake had evaporated: by comparison the 8x56 generally leaves me struggling after a while in unstabilized use. The majority of today’s binoculars have a twist up eyecup design and so can be quickly adjusted for optimum comfort. Leica is imho the only top manufacturer that still produces this format, there must be people who use it ! This finder has an image quality comparable with a compact telescope: A high contrast and a bright image through use of a multi layer coating.

Small handling niggles were noticeable, such as the barrels feeling a bit uncomfortable, being narrower than on the near-equivalent big Zeiss AKs; the narrow view came as a surprise even though we all knew about that from this thread on the forum; and of course the dioptre needed setting up.
