About this deal

Visions: The best shots of this one happen when the prisoners in the pit look up at the sky above them. It’s chilling, especially when juxtaposed with the more glamorous shots of a nearby city. A young girl, seeking reprieve from her days in a rural workhouse, discovers a legendary haunted cave with her friends. The cave’s dark pull will change the trajectory of her life forever. Visions: “Aau’s Song” is done in this wonderful stop-motion style that lends itself to cozy and adorable characters as well as utterly gorgeous landscapes and scenery. Additionally, Aau’s Force abilities being in tune with music and her singing is just really cool to see. The band Star Waver performs at the Mos Espa Grand Arena seen in 'Tatooine Rhapsody.' I imagine this could be a concert poster for their tour leading up to that performance!" Cast: Loi'e ( Camille Cottin), Jon ( Lambert Wilson), Hétis (Kaycie Chase), The Officer (Rudi-James Jephcott), Mee'ma (Barbara Weber-Scaff), Additional voices (Bruce Edward Sheffield), Additional voices (Taylor Gasman)

The Spy Dancer by Studio La Cachette | The premier dancer at a famous, Imperial-frequented cabaret uses her unique skill-set to spy for the Rebellion, but the presence of a mysterious officer threatens to derail her mission. Cast: T0-B1 (Japanese: Masako Nozawa; English: Jaden Waldman), Mitaka (Japanese: Tsutomu Isobe; English: Kyle Chandler) Visions: One of the most intriguing things about this short is the dancing — and how that translates into the climactic fight. Loi’e, the principal dancer and head spy, does an impressive routine using aerial silks. When she fights the Stormtroopers, she uses those silks as weapons. Her protege, Hétis, has a similar balletic fighting style. It’s fun to see a Star Wars fight that doesn’t rely on lightsabers or blasters. Cast: Tsubaki (Japanese: Yū Miyazaki; English: Henry Golding), Misa (Japanese: Lynn; English: Jamie Chung), Senshuu (Japanese: Chō; English: George Takei), Kamahachi (Japanese: Wataru Takagi; English: Keone Young), Masago (Japanese: Yukari Nozawa; English: Lorraine Toussaint)McClure, Brandon (January 8, 2022). During the initial war between the Jedi and Sith, an adolescent monk named Ara believes that the statues on her home planet, whose stones around its base have foretelling abilities, control both light and dark, as one is lit in blue light and the other in red. She resolves to destroy the dark head in the belief it can turn the tide of the war. Years later, Ara, now a teenage mechanic, requests the Jedi Council for a bodyguard on her quest; they assign a young Padawan named Toul to the task. Toul has recently lost his Master at the hands of a sadistic Sith Lord, Bichan, leaving him traumatized and in constant fear. The two of them collect supplies and head to the planet where Bichan chases them. They make it to the statues, but Ara realizes that both light and dark evenly flow between them, making it impossible to destroy. Toul overcomes his fear and with Ara's help manages to kill Bichan. The two of them decide to continue journeying together. Stars: The bulk of this one takes place on a distant planet outpost, so we don’t see too many stars. However, the final moments involve Lola, the main character, blasting away into space, the full expanse of the galaxy unfolding before her. Lowry, Brian (September 21, 2021). Nelson expressed concern about insufficient coordination among the studios to avoid overlapping themes in their stories, observing that a third of Volume 2's stories revolved around young girls finding mentors to teach them how to use the Force. Nelson praised Volume 2 for exploring the political aspects of Star Wars more than Volume 1, citing the theme of indigenous resistance in "In the Stars", forced labor in "The Pit", and resistance in "The Spy Dancer". Nelson also described "Screecher's Reach" as an inverse of Joseph Campbell's " hero's journey" and "I Am Your Mother" as a lighthearted "mother and daughter" story that differed from the higher-stakes drama of the other stories. Stars: The journey in question does involve a fair bit of space travel. The stars, however, are not super highlighted. Instead, the big visuals come from the forgotten temple where the final battle takes place. In March 2021, it was announced that Del Rey Books will publish Ronin: A Visions Novel, an original novel written by Emma Mieko Candon which builds on the story of The Duel. It was released on October 12, 2021. [12] Cast: Ronin (Japanese: Masaki Terasoma; English: Brian Tee), Bandit Leader / Kouru (Japanese: Akeno Watanabe; English: Lucy Liu), Village Chief (Japanese: Yūko Sanpei; English: Jaden Waldman) Stars: No stars here! This one takes place on a metropolitan planet, so it’s all city buildings and narrow streets instead.Wars: Very light on the war front here! The focus is on a bear-like alien species that mines kyber crystals for lightsabers. Except, all the kyber has been corrupted by Sith and need to be cleansed by Jedi. Justin Ridge executive produced the Emmy®-nominated series “ Star Wars Resistance.” His credits also include “ Star Wars Rebels,” “Storks,” “The Cleveland Show,” “ Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” Young pilot Anni, who is embarrassed by her sweet, but clingy mum, must team with her for a madcap family race at the academy. Along the way, their relationship is tested by the elements, their old ship, other racers...and each other! Magdalena Osinska is an award-winning director who has been with Aardman for eight years. Some of the spreads I enjoyed were the rough sketches of the confrontation between Karre and Am in “The Twins,”; the character study and close-up on F’s lightsaber (but no mention of her heels!); the sketches of the various surprise Sith from “The Ninth Jedi”; the early sketches for “T0-B1”; the surprising look at different Master/Apprentice pairs for “The Elder”; a deeper dive into Lop’s design; and the landscape concept art for “Akakiri.”Prange, Stephanie (September 28, 2021).
