About this deal

Simple Syrup - a simple syrup is just equal parts water and sugar stirred over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. To add to the warm fall flavors, I used a turbinado sugar. Turbinado sugar retains more of the natural molasses flavor of the sugar cane. Shake well and set aside in a cool dark cupboard for a further week, making sure you give it a shake every day or so to get that sugar to completely dissolve

I try to cook using only organic ingredients and fresh organic produce. Of course this is not always possible... but I do make the effort.Relatively inexpensive:Although vodka is a bit pricey, you can use inexpensive 100-proof vodka, regular sugar, and 1 single pear to make a batch of this homemade liqueur! It’s much cheaper than grabbing a bottle from the store.

Perfect for the holiday season:This drink is made for the holidays! It’s rich and sweet, and the hit of vodka will really warm you up on a cool winter’s night! The fun part about making your own liqueurs is that you can experiment and create a custom flavor. Feel free adjustany of the ingredients to develop your own "secret" recipe. It's difficult to go wrong, especially if you do the daily taste test. First you’ll need to gather up your ingredients, along with a glass jar. The full recipe will require a 1 gallon jar, but you can also cut all the ingredient in half to fit into a 1/2 gallon jar if you want to try it out first. Key Ingredients Pears: You can use any kind of pear for this recipe. I made a batch with Bosc pears and one with Bartlett pears and both are delicious.

Serving suggestions

Bring the water to a boil and add any ingredients you’d like to infuse. Allow it to simmer for a while to draw out the flavors. When you’re ready, add the sugar until it dissolves, remove from heat, and let stand until it reaches room temperature. I love hosting the Beverage Forum! As a former bartender and bar owner I am right at home mixing and shaking it up. I love cooking with spirits and experimenting with new drinks and making liqueurs. Stop on by the Beverage Form and see what we are up to. The great thing about this recipe is that it’s really simple. You don’t need a lot of ingredients or supplies! You will need a clean jar with a tight-fitting lid. Make sure it can take a lot of shaking. You’ll be shaking this jar every day for a while. Vodka:Start with a high-quality 100-proof vodka. I recommend looking for one with a quality you’d want to sip! Fresh pears:You’ll just need one ripe pear. Mine was slightly underripe and still made an absolutely delicious liqueur.

Play with your syrup. While plain simple syrup makes a nice liqueur, there are alternatives. Since this is designed to have a warmer profile, consider switching from white sugar to a darker one. You can use turbinado or demerara sugars in the standard syrup recipe or mix up something like a brown sugar spiced syrup. Either option will add a nice and warm richness to the liqueur. When the liqueur is ready, get a fresh, clean container and strain out the pear and vanilla beans using a funnel and a fine-mesh sieve. The complete list of ingredients and full instructions for making this recipe can be found on the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post. How to make dried orange peel

How to Make This Pear Liqueur Recipe.

Great homemade gift:Your friends and family will absolutely love getting a little bottle of this liqueur from you. They’ll be thanking you again and again once they try it! The weather was spectacular today. Frost and fog early on gave way to a gloriously sunny afternoon. The autumn foliage here in the mountains of western Maryland has never been more beautiful. At sunset, the thinnest imaginable crescent moon hung in the sky, illuminating clouds that looked like wisps of smoke.

Pear– Yes just one pear for this pear liqueur recipe. I have used a large pear of the William variety, though any type of pear will do really. They all have their own flavour. Make sure that your pear is ripe and juicy and unblemished. Absolutely delicious:The balance between sweet pear and floral vanilla bean is absolutely lovely! The bite of the vodka really wakes you up, but the flavor of the pears and vanilla together is just delicious.
