For anyone having SD/MicroSD disconnect/reconnect issues, the wonderful Ciphray has found a temporary solution that will work until GPD comes up with a fix. It lowers your SD readers speeds to USB 2.0 speeds, but they will stop having problems.In AMD software the ram memory has 6400mts instead of the advertised 7500mts...maybe an AMD sw issue. In our fan noise and temperature tests we ran Cinebench for 10 minutes at the default 28W TDP and measured them both. We got a highest temperature of 63 degrees and highest fan noise at 63 dB.The device / controller rumble is annoying and far from immersive as they claim. It's more like a mosquito than a rumble and I find it highly annoying so try to disable it in game wherever possible. As expected everything we tried works great on PlayStation 2. The good news is, it plays games fantastically and I’m blown away that I can play games like Fallout 4 with mods at 60fps on a handheld device. This is the future and I be damned if it’s not good :) Powering the GPD WIN MAX 2 is a 67Wh Li-polymer battery providing up to 14 hours of light use, 6-8 hours moderate use and 3 hours of heavy use. In our own tests on the handheld we ran Cinebench on full load at maximum brightness and got 2 hours 5 minutes. AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor, it has 8 cores and 16 threads running up to 4.7Ghz at a default 28W TDP I am very sure we will see improvements in performance as soon as AMD releases a properly working driver update. As to how much performance? That is the question. The 7840U and 7640U are essentially a power efficient 6800U CPU. They are higher performing, but I think there is still room for a bit more.You can also install other operating systems if you are familiar with the process and the potential risks it involves. While it is unlikely you can break the hardware, you would likely need to uninstall Windows, install another OS and configure it. Also do expect some bugs and compatibility issues as often these other operating systems are work in progress. I genuinely believe that with some solid driver updates this device would be perfect but for now I have a few little irritations hence the 4 stars. The WIN 3 weighs approximately 560g, and with dimensions of 198x98x.27mm, it’s really puts the “portable” in portable gaming pc. With 3x3950mAh batteries as well, enjoy between 3 to 14 hours of usage (actual usage time depends on stress/load). Below are the system benchmark comparisons for 30W TDP. You can see on PassMark that the faster 2TB makes a difference in the score as it includes disk performance tests, But the 2TB model does fall behind in the other tests. The two 1TB models have very similar scores across the other tests.
