About this deal

However, an unforeseen twist awaited them all: Horus’ brother, Magnus the Red, the Primarch of the Thousand Sons, had delved deep into the forbidden arts of sorcery and was determined not to let his brother succumb to the Warp’s temptations. The colossal cyclopean figure materialised within Horus’ hallucination, revealing the true identity of the chaplain and beseeching Horus not to yield to the snares of Chaos. Regrettably, Horus had already made up his mind, convinced that he alone deserved godhood, rather than the Emperor. He accepted the Chaos Gods’ offer to join their cause, in return for which they healed his grievous wound and bestowed upon him the formidable powers of the Warp. The pact between Horus and the Chaos Gods was straightforward: “Deliver us the Emperor, and we shall bestow upon you dominion over the galaxy.” Swaying The Legions The 10 Terminators in Age of Darkness, are clad in Cataphractii armour (named for the Cataphracts, the Persian heavily armoured cavalry of ancient times). This armour provides an unparalleled level of protection at the expense of speed of movement. There is a whole sprue just full of the different weapon loadouts. I believe keen gamers use drilled holes and magnets to allow weapon swapping after the build is complete. I have not done this. Tanks – A – Lot While the Heresy was sparked by a conspiracy orchestrated by the Chaos forces, it was further fuelled by several contributing factors that drove numerous Legio Astartestowards rebellion. Among these factors, the foremost was the Emperor’s unexpected return to Terra and his subsequent seclusion as he immersed himself in a secretive project, which he withheld from his Primarchs, including his beloved son Horus, who held the title of Warmaster. This apparent abandonment of the Great Crusade, coupled with the Emperor’s reluctance to confide in his own sons, sowed seeds of mistrust, resentment, and disappointment among many of the Primarchs towards their father. Horus Heresy seeks to recreate the epic battle for Terra from the Warhammer 40k book series of the same name. One player takes on the forces of the traitor Horus while the other player must defend the Emperor from Horus’s treachery. Does Horus Heresy do justice to this great book series or should it be banished to the warp? Read on to find out!

Recently I’ve been inducted into the Warhammer 40k universe. A friend of me loaned me a book when I was searching for something new to read and I’ve since become hooked on this series. As usual, when I get drawn into a new world, I get the bug to play a board game in that setting. The good thing is I didn’t have to go far to find a Warhammer 40k game. I looked at a few of them, but the shear size of Horus Heresy was the first one to catch my eye. After purging all suspected loyalist members within the three Legions under his direct command, Horus selected Isstvan V as his central command post, meticulously preparing a treacherous trap for his former brothers and their Legions. This legendary tale of treachery and heroism is brought to vibrant life with over one hundred magnificent sculpted plastic playing pieces. The stunning three-dimensional map of Terra brilliantly portrays the landscape immediately surrounding the Imperial Palace, from the magma-filled crevasses to the fortifications that offer the Imperial player protection against both enemy assault and orbital bombardments. [1] As with any Fantasy Flight Game, Horus Heresy does a great job with all the bits that come in the box. The first thing you will notice is the large, 3D game board. The board has 3D plastic fortifications that a player’s units can use in their defense. In additional to being functional in the game, they also look really cool.

On Mars, the Warmaster’s allies, the Dark Mechanicum, led by Fabricator-General Kelbor-Hal, initiated the Schism of Mars by unleashing a destructive Chaos scrapcode from the forbidden Vaults of Moravec upon the various forges scattered across the planet. This malevolent act marked the onset of a civil war within the Adeptus Mechanicus. The main armament is fixed as 2x4 barrelled lascannon arrays that can swivel and elevate on their Sponson Mounts. The standard armament is a Gravis bolt cannon and a Gravis power fist with inbuilt combi-bolter. Either of these can be swapped for Gravis auto cannon, bolt cannon, lascannon, melta cannon or power fist with inbuilt combi-bolter. The combi-bolter can itself be swapped for a Heavy flamer, Plasma blaster, Graviton gun or Meltagun.
